"We ordered the special set dinner F for a Saturday night meal Can not fault it in anyway The honey spare ribs were lovely the aromatic crispy duck with pancakes was lovely it was just all lovely. What a great service the China City take away surely must be one of the best in Clacton."

"It was embarrassing. Met up for a family lunch at my suggestion, but they just didn't have their act together. After waiting an hour after ordering we were told they had no ready cooked rice to go with one of the dishes and asked if we didnt mind waiting 20 minutes for some more to be cooked. We were hungry now, so opted for fries which really was not suited to the dish. The orders started to come out in dribs and drabs except the lamb chops. We were told to wait another 5 minutes while the gravy was made. It was a disasterous meal; I felt so bad. The Red Lion used to be so good. The embarrassed waitress apologised and took £10 off our bill which we felt went nowhere towards making up for our disappointment."

"I have been buying regularly from them and I have been very pleased. The last 3-4 weeks they are unrecognisable, for the 3-rd time I have got UNEATABLE food... I have had some squid which I think was warmed up in the microwave a few times, it was so hard and so full of oil...Last time they had put an entire pack of chilli and salt on it, today I have asked them to put less, but no way...So I had to throw it away again. Last time it has caused me abdominal pain for 2 weeks. Sorry, you have to change as you are not good anymore, unfortunately."

"Staying at highfield grange holiday park and close to this Chinese takeaway, had huh chow my, capital saving ripening, sweet and acidic huhn hong kong style and a fried rice with bark curry. it was really nice and the staff was very friendly. highly recommended."

"Having read the reviews and having been recommended by two locals we were excited about the prospect of our visit. Sadly the event was disappointing. The food was far too overheated and by that, I don 't mean the temperature I mean the spices. My Pad Ta Krai (advertised as Medium) was smothered in strong soy and most unpleasant...it was far too strong and my wife 's Mee Go Leng was similarly far too heavy with curry. It was also supposedly 'Medium '. So readers if you don 't want your mouth burned don 't eat here. By the way its cash only NO CREDIT CARDS"
