"Interesting to read some other reviews.This is a German cafe mostly aimed at lunch (relatively light) and high tea. It specialises in cream and fruit cakes. They even serve gooseberry tart which is rarely seen these days and a favourite of mine. Actually it doesn't serve the heavier types of German meat dishes at all. The smoked salmom rouleaux are perfect. It is also situated opposite the cathedral and is the most stylish café in the square.Consequently it is pointless, not to say a little absurd, to complain at there being no vegan food available or that it is not cheap. Furthermore, I must say that I thought the prices very reasonable for the quality of the food and the situation. Anyway, I recommend that if you like excellent squishy German cakes and earl grey tea and light lunches, and you like to spoil yourselves occasionally, this is where you go. Finally we went to the Reichard several times and without exception the staff were very freindly and efficient. Nor were we thrown out in a thunderstorm."
