"They started turning on all the lights and it wasn’t even 11 pm. It got super bright, ruined the ambiance and feel of the experience. We were there for a birthday. And ordered a lot, so it was not cheap. The least one can do is let guests enjoy their final moments of the evening instead of shoo-Ing them out with “hints” that it’s time to leave."

"As we would say in the UK not everybody's cup of tea. This is not a conventional modern hotel. It is an old building with a fun quirky artist interior. For my daughter and I it was perfect. She had a super cool Crashpad room and I had the Music Room. Everything was well thought through. Great attention to detail. The adjoining cafe was so friendly for breakfast. Perfect for someone wanting an informal base to explore Toronto."

"I've been there several times and the food has always been great. Last week I went again we both had the smoked breast of duck a l'orange. It was more like ham than duck - the outer pieces were overdone and tough and the smoke overshadowed the orange sauce. We were so disappointed. In the past I've had their braised duckling and it was melt in your mouth delicious. Wish they'd bring that back. The vegetables were good but the mashed potatoes could have been warmer. We ate about 8:15 - the place was fairly quiet - maybe we got the leftovers. The wait staff was wonderful and especially patient taking pictures of us as I had an out of town guest. The atmosphere can't be beat - quiet elegance - and that's what will bring me back. The sea food dishes have always been wonderful. BTY - still finding cottage cheese on the complimentary appetizer tray unusual and this time the garlic toast was limp and fairly garlic-less ! Maybe the chef was having an off night."

"We have been before and really enjoyed it. This time we were disappointed. We were there for a birthday celebration. The process to be seated was very unorganized. Our service was very slow. They appeared to be understaffed."
