"I dined here in July 2016 with a few friends. I ordered an 'American Dream ' and a 'Hawaii Five O ', with a side of chips. FOOD: 9/10 The burgers were fresh, tasty and perfectly portioned. If I had to compare them to Grill 'd, I 'd say they were better. The chips were incredible. They had a really nice crunch and came with a delicious flavour again, better than Grill 'd. The food is definitely worth the visit. VALUE: 5/10 Schnitz Charlestown looks and feels like a casual restaurant burger joint and is virtually the same as Grill 'd, but unlike Grill 'd it 's stuck in the middle of a busy food court. Schnitz doesn 't have it 's own comfortable and quiet dining area and because of this they should NOT be charging casual restaurant Grill 'd style prices. If I 'm buying a Food Court burger, I 'll pay no more than $10. In fact, $10 for a burger in a hectic food court is still very pricey. My chicken 'Hawaii Five O ' burger was a ridiculous $12.50. Sure, it was great, but it wasn 't worth $12.50. Compare this to 'Newy Burger Co '... who serve arguably the best burgers in Newcastle. They have an actual restaurant area and charge no more than $11 per burger for a premium burger, filled with premium ingredients. $12.50 is highway robbery. Don 't get me wrong. I love the Schnitz brand and burgers. If they had their own Grill 'd style restaurant, I 'd be all over that. If you want to serve that kind of food at those prices, you need to be outside Charlestown Square alongside Grill 'd and Nandos, not inside next to KFC. Location is everything. The customer pays for location and service, just as much as they pay for the quality of food. SERVICE: 3.5/10 The Schnitz counter was empty when I arrived. I stepped up and stared up at the menu blankly, having never been there before, hoping this would prompt the 2 servers to react and ask me how I was going and what I wanted. They didn 't. They just kept talking to themselves. I had to begin the conversation by asking a question about their burger menu. After being served, I was given a ticket and forced to wait over 12 minutes for my burger. This might not seem like much, but the friends I were dining with had already been served and had half eaten their meals by the time I sat down with my burger. If you are going to serve food in a food court , it needs to be served faster. There is just no getting around that. I will wait for food in a restaurant, but not in a food court. Finally, to top it all off, I ordered a large combo meal with a water and my bottle of water was completely forgotten. I had to venture back to the counter and wait a further 2 minutes to prompt a server to fetch my water. OVERALL: 6/10 Great food and certainly worth the visit if you are a burger lover like myself, however you 'll be overcharged and you 'll most likely have to wait a long time for it."
