"First the pros nice cocktail wine list. Cute space. Sophisticated vibe. The vegetable sides were simple good. Now the cons The crispy egg came so raw that the white of the egg was still translucent. Our table also ordered a white fish which also came very undercooked. When they returned it a second time it was like cardboard. Any artist needs to learn the rules before breaking them. Sophie needs to be more attentive to the basics of cooking time, temperature, and quality. These are basics of french cooking she either never learned them or has forgotten them in her attempts at creativity."

"GRILLED SEAFOOD PLATTER with Shrimps, scallops, octopus and calamari. What can I say, but a delightful, singular flavor from the wood burning oven and cooked to perfection. The bread served is not one of my favorites, however my partner finds it amazing..go figure! . SEA URCHIN DUO with Cherry, beet, pomegranate, scallops, Yuzu gel. Clean flavors from a pretty rich appetizer. The gel, my partner enjoyed and she is not a fan of that style. DIGBY SCALLOPS with La Canardière foie gras, celeriac, apricot, caper. Cooked as they should be, just fantastic! SALMON with beets…ahhh the only disappointment. The beets were a bit too al dente, but that is a matter of taste. Some would rate it higher than me. However the salmon was not a sushi grade. Which might not be an issue, but it was cut in a way that resulted in stringy pieces of fish. The service would be rated higher, except our waiter appeared relatively new and had trouble finding dairy free options for my partner among other requests. However the Somelier saved the day. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and a great conversationalist. After we perused the Greek selections with him. He set us up with a top notch Italian white wine. This was after our discussion, that the secret of Greek wines is out and the price to value is not as competitive as it was before. The desert wine recommendations were excellent as well. I have been coming to Ikanos for 10 years as an Old Montreal resident, who knows the quality from the tourist oriented places. Never a bad experience at Ikanos and enjoy the subdued ambiance. In the past, had amazing experiences signing up for the tasting menus with the guest Chefs. I find myself coming less often now, as the prices have increased over time. So it is more of a special occasion place for us, than a go to in Old Montreal."

"Everybody was adorable, great service. The MTL à Table menu was DELICIOUS! We loved the food that was served with good bread. Wine (riesling from Niagara) was also excellent. A great night!"

"Can I just say gnocchi lamb poutine? Last night I had the lamb burger- delish! And my husband the steak salad ( very perfectly coooked with a nice sized salad underneath. Onion rings not home made but they were good! Great service, nice atmosphere!"

"James Le Restaurant is the best restaurant that exists in Montreal at a reasonable price. They are attentive and efficient. They provide the best service and they have a gorgeously decorated establishment. They offer rarities like gold flaked desserts and perfectly cooked filet mignon to your taste. It’s the only place I want to go for my birthday. It’s the only restaurant that deserves special occasions in my opinion. The food is absolutely delicious and when you leave you’ll feel like you ate like royalty. I am in love with this restaurant."

"We had a seafood craving and that was the spot for that! We enjoyed all our dishes (see pics) especially the octopus appetizer and the lobster fettuccine , service was impeccable, i have nothing negative to say. Just know that ur going to a nice...restaurant so expect to pay in consequences , bon appetit!"
