"There is a great choice of food on offer including egg foo young, chop suey, pork, beef, lamb and chicken dishes, spare ribs, steak and so on. We ordered two set meals (sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice and sweet and sour prawns with egg fried rice), chips and prawn crackers for just under £16. The food tasted great and was value for money."

"We frequently visit Nutmegs and decided to use them for a surprise 60th birthday party, and we’re able to book the whole cafe on a Sunday. We had twelve people, one vegetarian, and had an afternoon tea for the party. Trent and Meghan were easy to book with and a confirmation came through five days before the party. We had a few drop outs before the party (originally booked for 15), and this was easily accommodated. On the day, we were allowed access an hour early for decoration. When the birthday girl arrived, the team quickly sprung into action and we were served tea, coffee, the sandwiches and cakes as well as other soft drinks. As usual, the food was amazing, fresh, and homemade. We also asked for a Victoria sponge cake which was delicious. Our vegetarian friend received their own mini plates and a quiche instead of the incredible sausage rolls. They put on some soft music to complete the intimate atmosphere. We managed to eat what we could and took the rest home. All in all, an amazing experience at a very affordable price. I heartily recommend Nutmegs for breakfast, lunch, or a party. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian option was mainly the same as the rest of the table which was great. The replacements were up to the same standard, which is very high."

"We spotted Peggotys as we walked past coming back at 2:15pm and ready to eat, we climbed the stairs to be confronted by a chain and a wireless doorbell. We rang it and waited, then were told by a member of staff that there was a five minute wait and we were left standing on the stairs, looking at an empty table ahead. Another staff member came up the stairs, unclipped the chain, re attached it and walked through without acknowledging us. It’s not The Ivy! What a shame if we’d been shown to a table and given a menu, or even allowed to sit, we’d have stayed but we are now eating elsewhere…"

"I have never tasted such disgusting food like this ever! The vegetable chow mein was so oily, bland and does not taste fresh at all. The Spring roll was just weird tasting, it was absolutely vile and super oily. The banana fritters were very doey, not crisp or fresh tasting at all. This was a take away. I called them to let them know but the response was couldn't care less. Terrible customer service. I never write reviews but felt I had to warn people of the whole experience. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. literally! YUCK!"
