"Caerleon was recommended to go tonn from the hotel we were staying at so looked up The Bell, menu sounded good and we were not disappointed. Real cider on tap, warm friendly welcome by every member of staff, food was amazing, the scotch egg starter was one of the best I've had in a very long time, all home cooked food, delicious and nothing too much trouble. Staff were just lovely, young bubbly and very attentive, landlord or manager, not sure who he.was, was a breath of fresh air, smiling, chatty. Had a lovely evening, thank you all so much"

"Loved it. We were staying locally and recommended the weekend pizza night. It didn't disappoint! We didn't have a reservation and they were fully booked (6pm Saturday night) but were offered a table outside on the deck. Considering the stunning weather we've had this summer, we were more than happy to be outside amid the sculptures and frescos. Staff were incredibly obliging and friendly and we felt very well taken care of. We had arancini balls and a couple of pizzas (one each) and they were excellent. Despite The Snug being a cosy little place tucked out of the way in a small village, the pizzas (from their impressive pizza oven) were up there with the best I've had. The pizza toppings on point and, most importantly, the bases were super tasty and delightfully chewy. Food and staff: 10/10. Heartily recommended and ready to drop in again soon."

"This was a very welcoming and friendly place to spend an evening in an idyllic location. We came for an engagement party and it was a great place for that. The buffet was made in house and it was the best buffet food I have ever experienced. I just know I will never find a scotch egg at that standard again for a very long time."

"First time of us using this restaurant and we were really pleased with our meal. We ordered a takeway at 5pm which I collected at 5.30pm (just after they opened . We had sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice, chicken chow mein and curry sauce. My partner is really choosy when it comes to chinese and even he said how much he enjoyed the meal. The chicken balls were the best I've ever had from a takeaway with just a minimal coating of dough, not completely swamped like some places. Both the rice and chow mein were cooked quite lightly. I will say the curry sauce did have a bit of a kick to it but I actually like hot curries so that was a plus for me. Overall great food, good value for money. Worth the trip across town to collect it. This is our go-to chinese takeaway now. the only slight negative was, by the time, I got the food home, the rice wasn't very warm but to be fair, they'd only just opened (maybe not had time to heat up? and the trip back home was through Friday night traffic on the M4. Next time I will factor that into my plans and take a chill bag plus order later. Looking forward to it!"
