"I called today after hearing good things about this place. I had a coffee, falafel wrap the frying with a little taste of suppe. came to £10.45 it was okay. the place has a good atmosphere and I met some nice people."

"Reported a faulty portable air conditioning unit in room prior to dinner as it was only blowing out hot air. On return from dinner room is boiling hot.. can not be slept in. Front desk team did not deal with the issue. 11.15pm and can’t sleep as it’s too hot.. !! You cannot sleep in rooms in the summer in this hotel without adequate air conditioning.. Shame the issue was not dealt with at the beginning and disappointed a reported issue was not resolved. !!"

"Mid week after work before a 7:30pm show at The Royal Centre (10 minutes' walk away). I went mackerel starter and then monkfish main course, both of which were excellent; my wife (vegetarian) enjoyed her substantial bowl of Gnudi (a little bit like gnocchi) which she'd never encountered before. Neither of us could pass up the excellent sounding chocolate dessert, which was delightfully rich. We left full but not stuffed so just right. Friendly and efficient service. Room a tiny bit cold, particularly sat by the massive windows the radiators were not on. Sad to see we were the only people dining they deserve to be much busier. Sensible prices for the high quality of the cooking."

"The food served don’t deserve 2 Michelin stars, I was so excited to be dining here for lunch. After dining at many one star restaurants my imagination was going wild at what we’d be served. The hors d’ oeuvres were underwhelming, one was a jelly sweet smothered in sugar! The bread was cold and was not fresh at all. The fish course was served on some sort of crust, this tasted stale. The fish itself did not of the texture of fish and was tasteless. As the dishes were brought out the more disappointed we became. Not one dish had a flavour explosion or brought any happiness. Not one dish seemed complete and everyone lacked something. As for the candy floss dessert, i tried, it failed not worth the calories. We paid the £440 bill for 2 and left speechless and hungry. Giving this restaurant 2 Michelin stars is a license to print money. If you’d like a Michelin experience half the price try Adams, Upstairs or even Simpsons in the midlands."

"We haven't been here since the pandemic. I forgot how good it was. they sit while a cook her eat before them on a large hotplate. we had the Sunday dinner that consisted of garnel, salmon, sirloin steak with a fried rice and sprout. the whole meal was excellent and they get all this for a very reasonable price. the service is great and everyone makes them welcome. we were a few times before the finish and will surely go back. all in all a great experience."

"I usually dislike restaurant chains for their formulaic menus and bland décor. However, this time I’m recommending a visit to Pizza Express simply because I LOVE the quality of the pizza. There is a good selection of pizzas with quality toppings that do NOT involve stuffed crusts and drowning by plastic cheese. I usually choose a thin base with spinach and ricotta and for me, this is heaven! I rarely find a restaurant that makes pizza that matches my expectations, in terms of quality of ingredients and a perfectly cooked thin base – but Pizza Express never disappoints me! This is strange as I’m normally rather skeptical when it comes to restaurant chains. Pizza Express salads are pretty good too with yummy dressings (from my experience) and the wine list is good. My only gripe is that having eaten in several Pizzerias in Italy, why is Pizza Express charging for a pizza?!"
