"We had our Christmas day lunch here this Christmas just gone. Although the overall experience was quite nice, we (2 of us) were very disappointed, when the main course arrived, to find the turkey was very salty, and the veg (because it was plated up before it came out which I thought was unusual for a restaurant of this standard) consisted of 2 small broccoli florets, just THREE brussel sprouts, THREE slices of carrot, and NONE of the traditional parsnips. For £73 a head we were very disappointed."

"We stopped for lunch. My husband ordered a ham and salad sandwich served with delicious wholemeal bread. The coffee was good and it was lovely sitting on the front verandah. The gift shop has lots of interesting things. The toilets were very clean."

"A quaint, traditional pub on the village green. It 's style and rustic charm looks unchanged since the 70 's. This is what makes it attractive. Serving 'home-cooked ' pies rather than the usual 'chain-pub ' affairs, is certainly a welcome. We ordered a couple of beers (1.5x pints), 2x pies and 1x chips. £37. Sadly, the 'charm ' soon wore off. The pies took literally 1hr to arrive. They are nice, large and with a rustic top crust (no-sides). I believe these are called 'pot-pies '. Sadly, the pie is made up of three-quarters, mash-potato and so not really THAT good value. The remaining quarter, we had the veggie-haggis and the mushroom leek versions, was very tasty. Had there been more of this filling then I would certainly recommend and re-visit. The small bar was 'manned ' by just the one staff member and so again, took an age to be served and later, to pay. Obvs what they do seems to work on a business level but I think a fair few people would come away disappointed."
