"We came to dinner at the silvester and loved everything about our night! the meal was fantastic (my favorite part was the Brussel spears) and the churros for dessert were the best I ever had. the chef has made a point to stop at each table several times and is very personal and unambiguously passionate about what he does. Luckily we are in the opposite because we cannot wait to come back!"

"Our expectations for this one were good and it was a nasty surprise what we found. As a local, we've always heard that this restaurant was good. however, we could say that this has been by far the worst dinning experience we have had in the last 4 years. The food was average good, the presentation for the dishes was very poor, honestly looked like the food was thrown in our plates without any consideration of how it should be presented. Flavors were ok, but we weren't impressed. Now, the worst part of the night was the service. Our server was not taking the time to properly serve us. He forgot TWICE about our order, we never asked about our drinks and when we asked for the wine to be our dishes companion, he FORGOT again. So, we ate cold, without wine and in a bad mood because of this experience. Off course, as we could expect, the prices for this food are not cheap. I won't say they are the more expensive ones, but it is above the average price for nice dinning in Asheville. As I mentioned before, we are local foodies. We like to go at least once a week to a new restaurant in town. Modesto is in our list of NOT visiting again."

"The best of the best I had on my short trip to asheville. our waiter (I think his name is graham) was sooo awesome! he knew exactly what he did was so friendly, and was really a perfect waiter overall. the food was so good. it was pretty packed, they sat down right below us and our food came out super fast. I'm just proud of this restaurant! highly recommended!"

"Rented a large hillside house SE from Asheville for the family vacation: 7 adults and 4 children. On Sunday, everyone went their own way and it was decided that we would bring in Indian for dinner. As I was driving with my daughter and son-in-law back from horseback riding, a group phone call settled on Mela Indian Restaurant and we would divert form I-40 to downtown for pick up. Food was ready and neatly packaged on time. BTW: restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff that I met were friendly and helpful. Amongst our orders were Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Vindaloo (hot but not too spicy), chicken tikki masala, mutter paneer (vegetarian dish) plus two different naan breads and a couple of other dishes that I have forgotten. Everything was excellent, even the kiddos found something that they would eat. It was a mass of food. It was a mass of food for less than $200. Several of us grabbed leftovers for lunch the next two days."

"Where do I start? the story begins over 25 years ago with my first visit in asheville. I was mostly vegetarian and looking for a place to dine. at the question of reception in our hotel I got the name and location of laughing seed and continued to go. I was blown away, the vibe was brilliant, eating was absolutely amazinballz and the service over exceptional. fast forward 25 years and I can say without doubt, they still beat one of the top restaurants in asheville for me every time I visit. I never had anything under the level of the service, the quality of eating or the joy of the ambient when we visited my first. as a long time restaurant manager/server/bartender I know how hard it is to keep the standard fixed, but they have and we apricate it every time we go. I always take friends and family when they come to the city, with the promise that it is vegan / vegetarian, that is not vegan / vegetarian and it is not. I cooked vegan / vegetarian for ever and while I can meet fantastic taste, texture and taste almost every time, these youngs never miss the brand. their art objects are so high quality taste that my meat-fed friends are always blown away as good it is, and for everyone and every vegetarian / vegan I would say that this is the bank brand for eating. her eating is of amazing service. in the years I never had a rough service experience. they were more and more professional, friendly, thoughtful, efficient fun. everyone was welcome and really made me feel at home. this is a direct reflexion of management, and while I have never met the owner or manager, I will say they have to take care of their personal, as I know they have so big people. I could go on and on about laughing seed, but what I say is if you think about just going to go, even a tiny affection to give it an attempt, then you get her back over the door and enjoy some amazing food and service. thank you. laughed unbelievable for over 25 years! I will continue to visit and be amazed!"
