"We visited Nate's on a Living Social Voucher for shared plates and have to confess we had fairly low expectations Wow were we wrong! Firstly, the staff were wonderful our waitress couldn't have been more pleasant, or more concerned that we were...enjoying ourselves. The secret ingredient in every dish is the love and enthusiasm of the chef. The dips we had as starters with bread, although the standard offering of capsicum, chick pea and eggplant were absolutely wonderful, with the eggplant and capsicum getting my vote for the best I have ever had of either. Each component of the entrée of chicken wings, beetroot carpaccio and mango salad, was worthy of our undivided attention. The main plate of Pork Belly (crisp, juicy and wonderfully tasty), Beef Cheek (the knife just fell through it) and Prosciutto wrapped perfectly crunchy asparagus was all wonderful. I sat back replete, thinking nothing could top this, but then came desert! White chocolate parfait was very nice, but the chocolate pannacotto was to die for the perfect end to an absolutely wonderful meal."

"3-4 yrs on and I still travel from Brisbane West to eat. Used to live in the street behind when they first opened (I miss that old house). I've basically had it all - Lamb Ala Kandar (wow), Chicken Sambal, Lamb Firdoss, Chicken Chennai, Lamb Sagwala, Chicken Ayam Madak Merah (double wow), Beef Redang, Beef Vindaloo, Goat Curry...all of them masterpieces. The spices, texture, tenderness....you get the drift.Let me state something incredibly important - the portion sizes are epic.... twice the size of anywhere else - Sitar (Albion, Coorparoo), The Spice Avenue (Birkdale), Curryville (Morningside), Grand Taj (Carindale), Taj Mahal (New Farm), Punjabi Place (West End). I've been to them all...I don't know why I bother. To the chef Mamak - its George here, listen up --- > you're going overboard. .....drop your prices or drop your portions....ppl will still come....you are seriously ridiculous some nights.PS, I use to bring them home-grown chillies....I knew he threw them in the bin thinking "what's this weird Aussie doing"....lol"

"We had the most disappointing dining experience here last night. The service was atrocious - there is simply no other word for it. There were two waiting staff - one who did all of the running around and the other who mainly stayed behind the bar and chatted to a patron who was perched on a bar stool most of the night. We asked for still water and got tap (the choices being still, sparkling or tap) and sat for a good five minutes with our entrees going cold while waiting for our wine. We had originally been promised the taste of a couple of different wines in order to make our choice but this never eventuated. We flagged the waitress down and, in desperation, ordered a bottle of what we thought would do. We commented that our entrees had gone cold to which there was no reaction/recognition whatsoever. My husband's pork belly was average and my scallops were acceptable but, being cold by this time, it was difficult to tell whether a warmer version would have achieved a higher rating. The main meals were very small and pretty much comprised only of the protein portion - thankfully we had ordered two sides to share as these were most definitely needed. This increased the cost of our $40"

"Service is truely crap, had to wait for 20 mins to be served and the waitress didn't look clean. The food itself doesn't tast like Afghani cuisine at all, the spices did not go well for me. I will never go back again, It was a terrible experience.I love middle eastern food and personally dined in other Afghani restaurants too many times. The food I tasted in this restaurant are not Afghani but more like paki instead. not going back."

"Went to Cinco with 2 friends on Saturday night. We are locals and have been there on a number of occasions in the past. Mains were lovely, sides (salads, vegetables), no better than satisfactory. We ordered 2 fine apple tarts between the 4 of us...to share. What a tragic and sad dessert. A piece of puff pastry, some apple syrup, caramel syrup and scoop of ice cream. Where was the apple? Seriously, desserts need to be better than that. A disappointing end to an otherwise quite good meal."

"We used to LOVE this place. The special rice and butter chicken was to die for.... im not sure if management or chefs have changed due to the fact that each time ive given them another chance, im left with bland tasting food. Maybe thats why the place is forever deserted?"

"We opted for the buffet and at $22 per head it was good value. Included in the buffet was tandoori chicken, pappadams, 2 vegetable curries, 2 meat curries, rice, salads, condiments and various deserts including gulab jamuns and fruit salad. We loved the Tandoori Chicken which was so tender and tasty. The naan breads were the best we’ve had. The curries were a bit mild. The big disappointment was the gulab jamuns which were half frozen. The service was ok but not great. The restaurant is nicely decorated, clean, warm and cosy."

"We went to Baalbak for a get together and business meeting. First up you see the take away store and thing OK what is this. Once you sit down and order the food comes well presented and with great flavors. We told the owner to keep it coming and got a wide selection of dips, small dishes for entree and mains. All in all worth the trip and can only recommend to everyone. Great Lebanese food o offer."
