"Fabulous surprise! From the decor, the food, friendly chef/owner, and service, it made my day, and all for $15.99. The absolute FRESHEST food with unique flavor that is truly authentic MADE FOR YOU WHILE YOU WAIT. The lentil soup was superb and sooooooooo tasty delicious. Everything was elegantly, super clean, which to me was inviting. The staff was accommodat- ing. The atmosphere made you feel as if you were in their country, especially with the cultural piano music on screen by an authentic artist from Iran. I will definitely return for dinner next time and can 't wait to try something else. They explain every-thing to you, gladly and with enthusiasm. I wish them lots of luck in this new East Meadow location. I had tried their Persian ice cream when formerly on Old Country Rd. in Westbury which was spectacular, but I 'm so happy I had their lunch special which has many items to choose from. I 'll be bringing my friends with me so they, too, can enjoy what I experienced."

"Surprisingly bad given the reviews. We arrived with a party of six and they sort of ignore us for awhile at the door, and then the woman who runs the place came over and seemed annoyed and pushed two tables together but then walked back to take an order and never actually spoke to us to bring us to the table. A little weird. We were still trying to get silverware ten minutes later. And there were bugs flying around during the whole meal. Food was poor. We 've been to Portugal and, trust me, it doesn 't taste like this. The bread was dry (maybe a day old? . Not served with butter or olive oil. One appetizer came out and then about twenty minutes later, a couple more. The mussels and chorizo were good, and the Caesar salad was very good (though not exactly a Portuguese dish . My steak was well done when ordered medium rare, and Portuguese style just means they put a fried egg on top. Just a piece of overcooked steak with an egg--no sauce or anything or veggies (I know, they 're for the table . The vegetables for the table were greasy and overcooked. The fries were very good though. The service was unsmiling the whole time, bordering on rude. Not sure why. We are an interracial family but the server wasn 't particularly friendly to anyone else at their tables either. The stuffed fish is stuffed with pork (not mentioned on the ancient menu, which doesn 't have half the wines listed and doesn 't describe any of the dishes . Our niece doesn 't eat pork and the server kept saying, you still have to pay for it. You should have told us... Not untrue but not handled in a friendly way and we just paid for it and had it boxed to take home. Three members of our party (including me spent extra time in the bathroom afterwards. $260 for six people with two bottles of wine. The whole place just left a sense of being tired and dialing it in. I wanted to like it since it was my birthday dinner but just can 't recommend."

"Pietro’s is always delicious, and this was our first time in a igloo sitting on the back terrace. it was super sweet and cozy! beautifully illuminated with laces and individual heating. I was afraid it would be too cold, but we could take off the weights and eat our warm food without problems. great experience!"
