"Ein afghanisches Restaurant in Frankfurt? Da bin ich sofort neugierig geworden, weil ich das Glück hatte in diesem wunderschönen Land meine Kindheit verbracht zu haben. Der Wunderling im Nordwestzentrum ist ein geräumiges und helles Restaurant. Am Tresen kann man schon mal die Speisen in Augenschein nehmen. Zur Wahl stehen Fleisch- und Gemüsegerichte, die das sehr freundliche Personal auf die großen Teller tut. Zu den Hauptgerichten gibt es vier verschiedene Sorten Reis und auch noch eine sehr ordentliche Portion Salat. Ich war hier mehrfach mit Kollegen essen und alle waren begeistert, denn der Wunderling bietet wirklich authentische schmackhafte afghanische Küche. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich sehr gut."

"Curious evening. I was on my own on a business trip. Lovely décor, looked very nice. But.... The owner or maitre'd was a bit offish when I arrived, even though I had a booking and the place had only four or five other tables occupied....It was also unusual that for a Mediterranean restaurant, all of the waiters seemed to be young Japanese men. Whatever, on I go. OK the food. As a starter I had Steinpilz ravioli. The filling was very good, but the sauce was spectacular. Worth visiting for. Sadly the ravioli has really stodgy curled edges, most of which I cut off and left on the plate. It didn't spoil the enjoyment though. The main course was a major disappointment. Kalbs filet mignon. Lo and behold, it seemed to be the same or very similar sauce to the starter. Fine. But the meat was spongy. It was a really unpleasant consistency. I've never actually has meat that tasted and looked like that before. I left most of it and the waiter didn't even enquire if there had been a problem. Really expensive as well. Never again."
