"I saw a sign that said all day breakfast so we decided to head to Mars Diner. It was a cozy little diner. It looked like it was from the late 50s with its red colored seating and metal counters. All that was missing were waitresses on rollerblades dressed in those poofy poodle dresses. I would love to wear one of those poodle skirts for fun. "Was with a group of four, two of which had been here before and had raved about the food. We arrived for our 6pm reservation, which didn't seem to matter since we were seated without anyone asking our name or confirming our reservation in a book or computer.Our waiter Tony gave us menus, but not so much as a "hi, how are you doing tonight". I only know his name because it was printed on the receipt at the end of the meal. He then brought us water which was warm. I don't just mean room temperature, but warm! None of us could drink it. I looked for our waiter to no avail. I did ask a waiter from another table for some ice, explaining the problem. He brought some ice for me, but too bad for my three friends -- lol. I added the ice to the water, which promptly melted.I ordered a Caprese salad (one of my all-time favourite salads) and the stuffed chicken. Waiter returned to say they have no ingredients for the Caprese. Really? At 6pm on a Saturday? Bizarre. I ended up changing my entire order to their Saturday night steak special, the same as two of my friends. They each asked for medium-well, and I asked for medium-rare -- which really didn't matter at all, because all three came well done. Waiter wasn't remotely interested in the fact that they were over done. We had theatre tickets and wouldn't have been able to wait for new steaks to be prepared, so we didn't request this, and just ate what we were served -- which turned out to be tough and chewy (surprise, surprise). No follow-up to the table asking if we were enjoying things. No follow up to the meal asking about coffee and dessert. Other strange thing -- it was 30c outside and the heaters were on! I accidentally leaned by bare leg against one and burned it. I told the waiter who, instead of apologizing, just walked away (although he did come back with one of the chefs who turned it off).On the way out, we had to pass Tony who just stood there staring at us. No "have a nice evening" or "thanks for coming". He's got to be one the most lacking-in-personality waiters I've ever come across."

"Nice place. It has a patio at back that feels like indoors. I ordered fish tacos and my wife ordered the chicken tacos. The fish tacos were the winner. The chicken was breaded and fried. My daughter ordered the vegetarian souvlaki which she enjoyed. Good service and ambiance. Good value."

"Bad service, it was booked in advance for a birthday, it was not received like other restaurants, it was never mentioned that it was a special occasion (birthday), not even in the dessert, and the piece of meat like it was in Water thawed, tasteless, uncooked and hard, I don't think we will be back, this is the third time we go and it was very bad, I don't recommend it"

"Opus has been a mainstay in the Annex neighbourhood for close to 30 years. What has kept in in business (and it was packed the night we dined there) great service, outstanding food and one of the best wine lists in Toronto. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner the seared foie gras appetizer (very silky and very rich), the Fogo Island cod entree (a small portion but perfectly cooked and served with a great saffron sauce) and doughnuts tossed in cinnamon sugar for dessert. It's not cheap appetizers in the mid $20s and most entrees between $40 and $49 but a good place as any to splurge."

"Server and staff was friendly but timing was very off. Food arrived cold. Coffee arrived late and and cold. Assuming they were short staffed, but it wasn’t busy at the time. Food was ok. Atmosphere was nice and jazz band was a lovely touch."

Very attractive summer menus and one of the dessert had exceeded my expectation -- Lavender Crème Brûlée. It was very competitive with Bymark' Crème Brûlée. Please see the tasting dishes photos.This restaurant has always been best in their roasted chicken and fish & chips dishes. They are very unique and both dishes are the best that I had tasted in the downtown core restaurants.Their special sharing menus are excellent value, quality and enjoyable no matter you choose the roasted chicken, prime ribs, BBQ pork ribs or chicken and ribs share. There are recommended wines or cocktails to go with the delicious dishes. The servers pay attention to customers food requirements and they have full knowledge on the regular, sharing and drinks menus.The three course menu is the best value for $32. Tried it many times with different choices. Food quality is consistent and that's very important to the customers. Good gathering location for party, family with young children, business meeting and private room is available. Had hosted birthday dinner in the private dining room."
