"Visited today for a Christmas meal with several other Foster Carers. Food was ok. We paid £10 deposit each. We spent £200 plus drinks. Was asked to pay the balance before today. Never heard of having to pay the bill up front before. I disputed this. It was agreed we would pay remaining bill today. One person was ill so couldn’t come. Despite the pub having her £10 deposit we were expected to pay her remaining £5. We found this atrocious !! We won’t ever go there again !M"

"I took my family to the Corner House, as my daughter who has cancer will start her next course of chemo next week and this was probably going to be the last time we could go out as a family for a number of months....Unfortunately we chase to eat at the Corner House. We booked a table for and duly turned up on time, the restaurant didn't look particularly busy and we were then shown to our table. minutes passed before someone asked if we would like to order some drinks and this seemed to set the tome for the evening. The drinks arrived fairly quickly at which point we placed our food orders. it then took minutes for the starters to arrive, in truth they were good apart from the sour cream that accompanied the nacho's as this didn't have much consistency and was a sloppy liquid. My year old son is highly autistic so we had ordered his main with our starters, when the staff came to take our plates we ordered him a pudding for him to come with our main meals. After waiting for minutes for our mains to arrive, my son's pudding was delivered to the table so we took the opportunity to ask about our mains. The lady apologized and said that they were just being plated up. minutes later and still no mains so the lady once again apologized and said she would take off the meal. Another minutes had passed when our meals finally arrived, so in total we had to wait our and minutes from eating our starters to our mains finally being served. I can only best guess that they mislaid our order as people who had arrived after us were all getting their food. So the food had finally arrived, my daughter who is a vegetarian ordered a Jackfruit burger and took one bite and said it was inedible so she left it. I had order a sirloin steak which was very difficult t cut and was like leather when I tried to eat it. Looking at my plate the mushroom had shriveled, the onion rings were bordering on being burnt, therefore I best guess that my meal had been sitting under one of those heat lamps for a long period of time before being served. Clearly I wasn't happy and showed my meal to the lady and she agreed with the state of the steak and took my meal away. Having been there for over hours I didn't want to wait for another meal to be cooked so my wife and son finished their meals and then I paid and we left. What was supposed to be a family evening out, before my daughter's chemo starts again, turned out to be a disaster. You wont be surprised to hear that I will never set foot in the Corner House again!"
