"We stumbled into Bangbang enroute from our hotel to a conference with not a lot of time to spare, hoping for good inner-city coffee and something resembling breakfast. We were impressed beyond words with our luck! Attentive staff brought fabulous coffees promptly and our food wasn't far behind. The poached eggs, avocado and grilled tomato on sourdough was perfectly presented in a deep plate; great for mopping up juices. My partner's (crispy) bacon and (perfectly cooked) egg was just what he wanted in a bacon & egg roll. And a quality pepper grinder on the table (so I don't have to ask for one) always gets extra points from me. The atmosphere was clean, efficient, calm and happy and the staff oozed genuine warmth, pride and enthusiasm. The young guys running the enterprise have taste in music that could be described as eclectic and retro, so be prepared for unexpected flashbacks. For me; I was suddenly 10 years old and singing Carpenters' duets with my brother on a road trip to the Gold Coast. But the service and the quality was all here and now, and such a great start to the day that we went back again the next."

"I've been twiceThe first time was a friends birthday dinner, 10 of us with most only meeting that night- this style of dinner was a great relaxed way of making new friends and avoiding awkward silences as it's a good conversation starter!The second time was just 3 of us, again great fun! Although that was bear Chinese New Year and there was a special menu on that wasn't as inviting as the normal menu...It's a fun way to dine with bibs and all sorts of tools to dismantle your crab to get the tasty meat out! I wasn't an experienced crab eater beforehand but found I really enjoyed crab meat, and even though I accidentally managed to spill the melted butter it was cooked in into my lap, I was having too much fun to care! It's messy, gloves are recommended and supplied :) Oh and enjoy the fantastic cocktail menu! & bacon fries! Yum!"

"I've come here for over a decade, there has been some change, but they were miraculously held at the famous $ 5-dollar steak. I think they still have it, it's a year since I ordered it. Pizzas, burgers and sandwhites are all decent and they usually have a good lunch."
