"This place is always spot on with the food. I only ever get the cheese enchiladas because they are my absolute favorite but they make them so well here. You receive 3 enchiladas per plate and their consistency is perfect. The place itself is adorable and reminds me of your typical hole in a wall, it needs some updates and renovations but nothing matters when the food tastes THAT good. The staff are super friendly as well! They have yummy little cookies and sweets at the counter I definitely recommend getting some, we got the strawberry cookies and they are divine! The place is small but their heart is big I'm happy we have a restaurant like this in Elgin."

"Place is trash. Went to dinner with my family for my birthday, we ordered 5 beers and they were brought to the table with no problem. I drank one , then decided to let the waitress know I wanted a drink. It took well over 15 minutes and I did notreceive it so we went to the bar and asked them to make one. the bartender comes over to ask for an Id and refused to give me mydrink after I had already drank a corona. My entire party was not carded and they were able to drink anything they wantedbesides me. We had a 20 year old that wasn?t carded as well. I was not allowed to drink a single thing. It made my experiencevery uncomfortable, and I will never be going back. The service was also not very good. They brought the utensils out after Ihad my food for 5 mins. No wonder the place is always empty. Only thing keeping it open is the banquet hall."

"This place blows me away every time. the staff is friendly and attentive, but the food.... the food is so good. the carne asada is the best I ever had. I gave to this dish at dinner in restaurants because so many places don't cook well. the queso is big and their variety of salsas are really good. the chips come hot, which also makes a big difference. We really appreciate this hidden jewel in Elgin. Oh and they stay open later than any other restaurant in the city! Another thing we like in this place is the atmosphere, its old school good food and good service, they let the food and service shine. also the only place I found with the cactus as a funnel, but if you think you're not a fan, give him an attempt, it makes the taco so good! I only have two pictures because most of the time I'm so excited to catch a picture. Would definitely recommend if you are in town or just by 290, amazing food and service!"
