"My husband and I ordered to eat beach at the departure bay. We ordered prawn and scallop souvlaki and beef ragu. When we arrived at the beach, we realized that we had no goodies to come with every meal. The scalops were as dry and overboiled as the small shrimps. The tzatziki had no taste. We have lived in the area for a few years and were excited to try this local restaurant. But we'll never eat here again. Not only was it expensive, it was very disappointing."

"Clean and interesting first nations decor. Had a great meal. At the beginning we enjoyed the bannock and sides that accompany it, butter, wild berries jam and whipped cream. Jamie. Main meal was Halibut wound prosciuto, which was crispy without being overdue., this was accompanied by...drilled asparagus and risotto. A wonderful meal. Husband had artic char with risotto and maple syrup butter base. Both dishes were very good."

"I was only in Nanaimo overnight. After exploring the downtown area and spotting Le Cafe Francais during the afternoon, I took a chance and walked in without a reservation. I' m very happy they were able to accommodate me. The food surpassed my expectations in every way. I enjoyed the St. Jacques Basilio scallops, shrimp in a garlicky tomato sauce, with a toasted baguette on the side. The side veggies of pea pods and broccoli were perfectly prepared. More than the delicious food, I loved the atmosphere here. It felt like I was in a cafe in a little town in France. Almost everyone eating there seemed like regulars. Papa is in the kitchen, with two sons out front the synergy was impressive to watch. I would suggest that if you are in a hurry, this is probably not the place for you, but if you have time to indulge, you will love it."
