"A boat house in Böblingen? Doesn't that sound too maritim, so far from the sea? And yet everything is harmonious, because the building is located directly on the upper lake – which, by the way, was created naturally and was not created artificially. On sunny days you can dine quite nicely on a long wooden ridge, which protrudes into the lake or enjoy a glass of wine. During the annual event series “Summer am See” numerous concerts will take place in the old TÜV building, which will take place next to it, the boat house also serves as a popular drink. And by the way, it works – around the year – as a "nette toilet" that you can use the restaurant's toilet free, even if you are not a guest and eat it. The parking situation is a bit difficult: not far from the building there are some free parking, but mostly occupied by local residents. However, it is possible to use the underground car park of the nearby congress hall or the parking spaces of the Landratsamt, which are also charged for a fee. Or you go to the foot. The Obersee is a popular flanier mile, especially with a child and a cone, with a cycling carriage and a stroller. Susann Faude has been responsible for the boathouse since the last year after several rental changes. This is reflected inside by an even more modern ambience with some innovations. However, whether the deep-hanging luminaires can lead to unpopular collisions, or the rolling containers are located in the middle of the room where wine glasses with wooden strings (a bit strange, right? the taste of all guests is questionable. Friendly and bright, the indoor environment is all around and you feel spontaneously comfortable even if it can be very, very close during the lunchtime. Clothes rack is located only in the front area of the restaurant, not near the table. Not everyone loves to hang his leather jacket so completely outside his eyes. And there are hardly any storage options. As I had already seen, the boat house is particularly magnificent over noon. This can be attributable to the surrounding authorities, whose employees will certainly like to return here – but also to the favorable, changing lunch table. Weekly there are various dishes, all very cheap: vegetarian for 5 euros (usually noodle dishes, meat or fish dishes for 7 euros). But note: An additional salad is not automatically included and, if desired, strikes again at 2.50 euros. But you can also afford an espresso for 1 Euro. In the last few days I visited a small group at noon. Since we had not reserved a table, only a single gentleman kindly took us up at his table, then the servant gave us new places right at the window. It is very fleeting and fast and unproblematic. Our orders were delivered after a quarter of an hour. The pork steak and the beef skeleton from the lunch offer (each 7.00 euros were treated with a saturation allowance (noodles or croquettes were delivered and praised. The meat was pleasant and the noodles were no longer too much al dente. However, I found the dishes somewhat colorful and imaginative. It wasn't even a bit of a decoration element on it, like a tomato or some herbs. The bugs were soft and pale. Together with a colourful additional salad, the overall arrangement was not favourable for 11 euros. Satt was all. All drinks were delivered well cooled and received a real gift. However, I found 0.2 liters of Trollinger (which, however, is considered as a Schoppenwein for 4.20 euros, then is somewhat inexpensive. Interestingly, the place emptied suddenly after 13:30. It's my theory that the crowd of guests comes here at noon. Also worth mentioning, the brunch offered on weekend seems to me a nice idea to pamper his loved ones again."
