"I usually stop by if I am in the 5th St. Market shops. They have excellent coffee drinks and a lot of treats too. I like the newly remodeled dining area, it has a modern feel to it with some specialty items. Last time, I bought some really fancy sea salt. It was very expensive, but it's fun to try new things. Nice spot to meet with friends. Also, a wonderful flower shop next door."

"This is one of my go to spots whenever I visit Eugene. Their coffee and espresso is great, but what I really go there for is the pastries. Their croissants are awesome and a quick option for lunch or breakfast. Their scones are really good too! I usually gohere at least a couple times before I leave town. I highly recommend this place and will return!"

"Stopped in ordered a breakfast sandwich, waited what felt like 20 minutes and left without my food. They were not slammed with customers and overall the place was pretty empty. Not to mention the other people who were waiting before I had even arrived still hadn't received their orders. Poorly run business, and flat out not professional. Save your time and make it yourself. This whole being asked to tip before a service is rendered movement is absolutely bonkers to me, this place takes the cake. Here's a tip: Do better or don't do it at all."

"Had a bad experience here this morning. Hadn't been here in a few years so I can't judge it against recent experiences, they could have just been having a bad morning. It was crowded. But we waited about 55 minutes for our food. At 45 minutes weinquired, she said the kitchen was behind and understaffed. This is the new norm everywhere. They had plenty of front end help. She could have offered free 2nd coffees or a pastry, but she did not. When the food finally arrived it was cold, and myfriends order was not even correct. We did complain. She said she'd speak to the manager. She came back with two free drinkcoupons and said our food price would be refunded. Won't know if this really happens until next week) This is really great, except she was clearly annoyed at us did not bother to try and hide it. She was not genuine at all and probably complained toher co-workers about us. I get it, I'm sure she works hard for not a lot of money. It was just a long time to wait for coldfood that wasn't even correct. In the meantime, they don't take your name for coffee orders so they just yell the drink names,constantly. This makes the atmosphere kind of stressful. Most other reviews are good, so I guess we patronized them at thewrong time. :"

"I know most restaurants have trimmed their menus due to the recent economic conditions, but I think the Excelsior Inn has gone a bit too far. I had reviewed their menu online and was looking forward to the dinner. The actual menu, however, was far, far less than advertised. Again, I understand a limited menu, but I really found the menu to be much too limited. No real selections for a high-end restaurant. We won't be back unless and until we know that the menu is back to some semblance of normal. By the way, we have one other restaurant that did the same thing and we won't be returning there until the menu improves. I just think the Excelsior has gone too far."
