"Best dinner of FAR I had in the Bradenton/Sarasota area since here in December. It's such a lovely surprise. Great atmosphere, service. And the food. If you want food, with some serious FLAVOR you come here! Had the short ribs, crab cake (most crab meat by far I have ever seen in a crab cake) and tuna tartarsizer. Every penny worth it. We'll be back for all three."

"Typically when I see a restaurant has so many options, I get a little scared for the quality of food, but this was not the case here! I did not have one bad dish here. I highly recommend getting some cheese as a starter and it goes very well with the breadthat is served in the beginning too. I was slightly thrown off by the bleu cheese in the quattro frommagi pasta, but I didn?thate it. Overall, a nice place to get dinner with tons of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. Service and ambiance wasalso good."

"Since this was our first time here we elected to go with the tasting menu which was split into three sections which could best be categorized as: soup/salad apps and mains. One of the apps we ordered was no longer available a minor problem if a somewhat annoying start as this was 7:30 on a Saturday and a restaurant should not be running out that early in a service IMHO. My lamb soup arrived which was more a stew than soup with LARGE chunks of carrots, celery, potatoes and parsnip. Based on the fact that this restaurant describes itself as having Mediterranean/North African roots I expected those flavors to come through sadly there were little to no spices in this tomato based stew the celery was fibrous and inedible with whole peppercorns jutted throughout like little depth charges of palate destroyers. My partners chickpea cakes were over processed with too much binder and therefore a very strange consistency worse still they were absolutely flavorless making them reminiscent of tiny vegan hockey pucks. The waiter took note that we hadn 't eaten any of our 1st course and trying to keep it light I joked if the kitchen could step up their game on the next course and at least season the food correctly after all we had a nice bottle of Riesling that this food was ruining. The salads came and more of the same both were over dressed which made the fact that they had no flavor a culinary contradiction. The waiter returns to our uneaten 2nd course and I beg him to make sure that my duck is blushing red and rested with crispy skin and the risotto luscious but not loose. The owner came to our table and his only response was nobody else is complaining when I showed him the risotto that more resembled fried rice and the flaccid skinned and grey duck he just shrugged and said he would take it off the check how kind of him. Maybe I am too much of an idealist but shouldn 't a restaurant set the standard and not cater to uninformed diners for their food cues."

"The meal,as usual,was excellent. Unfortunately,they are closing from their current location;and moving to a new location. Information will be forthcoming as to date and location of reopening. Look forward to visiting at new location. I have been a customer from the beginning when they were La Scarpetta and have enjoyed their food for a few years. The homemade pasta is always a treat,and the veal dishes are better than most of the places in Sarasota. .Sorry,I'm a spoiled New Yorker and I grew up eating veal cutlets.They know how to cook fish so it's not over cooked and I have had a bowl of soup for dinner on those late nights when a meal is too muchLook for the reopening,it's a real treat and I'm reluctant to tell everyone how good La Violetta is,it's difficult enough getting a reservation"

"We love Ruth Chris. Always start off with seafood tower for 2. The tower is always perfect. Usually share a Filet Mignon Medium rare which is always spot on. Excellent sides and good dessert. Wine selection is excellent. We go for special occasions and just because we enjoy it. The wait staff is always very attentive. Last time they had changed the bread basket which was disappointing. I emailed about that and got a quick follow up response from manager that said next visit we should make special request for breads and they would be accommodating. I will try and see what happens. I know it might be a little petty but when you drop 400.00 dollars for dinner for 2 it’s not being petty."

"Out of cakes, danish, cookies, etc. Meat case looked old, dry uncovered. Not clean. Bought hot food dinners. They were unique, unusual delicious. The dining room was dark empty. All in all, not a very inviting experience. I really wanted to love this place too."
