"I’ve eaten here a few times now (takeout once, dined in once) and I like this place. It’s similar to Tapatios in Vestal and Grandma’s in Endicott. Colourful, festive interior and generally soft-spoken but nice staff. The food is a tie for me between these restaurants, but the atmosphere here might be my favourite. I had the Camarones al Chipotle the first time, and remembering how much I enjoyed it, had the similar Camarones Poblanos when I went back this time. Execution was consistent between the two visits. The shrimp were cooked well in a creamy and flavourful sauce. It’s hard to say for sure because I enjoyed these dishes more than a year apart, but I think the Chipotle is the spicier and richer option, while the Poblano sauce has a more vegetal taste. Both are tasty! The rice and refried beans on the side were standard but also good. I’m not sure what it is but I do particularly like how they do their beans. I think it’s cute that they put the guacamole salad in a little tortilla chip cup to keep it separate from the hot sides! I also had their horchata and it was very good! Smooth and just right on the sweetness. They have complimentary chips and salsa, and the salsa is great, with a robust roasted flavour. Portions are very generous (I finished all of the shrimp, rice, and beans, but saved the tortillas it came with for later) and fairly priced."

"My son loves La Cocina de Mama because they have “the best queso in the entire world!” Mama’s fast, quick, and has great customer service. Food presentation is good, not slopped on plate. Margaritas are some of the best in Louisville!!"

You won 't be making a mistake coming here but if you 're willing to pay more you can find better food elsewhereMore details: This place has a great feel as a gathering spot for locals. The prices are quite affordable especially with everything else being more expensive post-pandemic. The food is at best good but forgettable. Entree portions are a bit small compared to most restaurants (expected with tapas in the name). Service seemed stiff and made easily fixable mistakes (meals coming out staggered so people have to wait). My first impression walking in, was cool little restaurant after leaving not bad but why come back?"

"If I could give no stars, I would. Had the worst service and slowest waitress ever there tonight! The manager did not seem to care. First, it took forever to even get our drinks. Refills did not come out in a timely manner and only after multiple reminders. By the time the food came out, we were not even hungry anymore. 3 fajita orders with NO tortillas brought out! We had to ask for them. Wrong tacos brought out and had to be returned for the right ones. Missing toppings on 2 of the orders. And 1 order finally came out when all others were finished eating. Unfortunately, that was not even edible due to being burnt and was sent back. When the skillet was picked up there was sour cream and guacamole all over the bottom of skillet and a pile left on the table. Neither were ingredients for the meal! When speaking with the manager, she did not appear to care or even act sincere. The inedible meal was taken off bill but only a dollar discount on the other order with multiple mess ups. This restaurant used to be good but has REALLY gone down hill. Sorry we went to this restaurant tonight vs waiting at the one in House Springs!! Left extremely disappointed!!!"
