"What an absolute delight it was to stay here on a recent visit back to our hometown for a party. Staff were so lovely and helpful, food was great but attention to detail is everything. The rooms were beautiful, beds amazingly comfy, proper pillows, decor was so lovely and modern but all the little things like bedside touch lamps, lights around mirror in dark areas. The toilets in the restaurant were clean, modern and smelt amazing. Cannot rate this hotel high enough."

"It was my nans birthday dinner. My sister booked via phone call last Wednesday to book. They had no reservation for Penicuik but for loanhead. These things happen of course, so we waited till they organised a table which if I'm honest was more of a conference feel. We waited ages for a drinks order and a food order. In total it took 2 hours to be served starters and then an additional half hour for mains. We had to send two mains back to be redone. The steak was cold. A ribeye was frozen with a vinegar sauce not Diane. My mothers salad with beef had burnt pieces and had three pieces only. My nan ordered a fish but a small portion/half a fish but it came out as a whole fish. When I took a bite, there was bones in the fish. My sisters fajitas only had two wraps. We did get a round of drinks for free. When we were done we didn't get an apology from the chef nor owner. It ruined the celebration and we certainly won't be back."
