"The first time to taste the Egyptian food and will not be my last! really tasty meal with a mixed vegetable dish with falafel, roasted cauliflower, marinated aubergine, pickles and hummus and pita. general portions also, as easily served 2-3! loved the outside seats for the fresh air and casual atmosphere."

"The worst middle eastern restaurant I have ever been to. We were in a group of 18 on a week night so we were the only people in the restaurant. Where do I begin?! We ordered the large set course menu... The meat is dry the kebe is ridiculous, more shell than stuffing. The dips were OK.... It's a dip, how hard can it be. Worst of all, the price was criminal, I wasn't even paying for it and I still felt ripped off. In my opinion, the only reason this place is still open is because it's in Newtown and many customers accept this as "true middle eastern food" because they simply don't know any different."

"A once excellent Lebanese place had closed in the same location so when Old City opened we were excited that a similar cuisine replaced it. This turned out to be a disappointment. We ordered takeaway as a sample and were waiting when it came out of the kitchen so the food was as fresh as could be and we ate it in 5mins - Falafels that should be crunchy on the outside and soft inside were a bit chewy, the kibbe lacked spice and we were given labneh instead of baba ganoush. The chicken however was very good. We are locals and normally willing to give anything a second chance but Old City hasn't delivered promising results."
