"Fig Bistro is a terrific restaurant on many levels. It is located in a charming courtyard of stores away from the crowded downtown. The food is meticulously prepared with attention to quality, taste, and presentation. The theme is a combination French and Italian that works so well. The creamy soup (leek, if I remember correctly) was wonderful to look at and savor. The farfalle bolognese was delicious, light, and satisfying. And the bread pudding was memorable and wonderful. The chef, who visits your table, is obviously dedicated to your having a good meal, and the waitstaff is friendly and very helpful. Fig Bistro is worth the short trip from downtown Asheville. It's a delightful experience to eat there."
