"Have been visiting Sale Pepe for 40 years and have always given it 4 5 stars. Restaurant recent closed for refurbishment and this was our first return. The refurbishment looks good and has retained ‘old’ atmosphere but with a high quality update. Sale Pepe has never been cheap but given its location, excellent service and food, this has never been issue. Until now. The menu has been revamped with most Italian ‘favourites’ removed and replaced. The prices are eye watering, even by Knightsbridge standards and the service, whilst abundant was ineffective with long waits for drinks despite repeated requests. The food was ok but not a patch on previous standard despite almost doubling the cost. It just didn’t deliver an Italian (or any other) restaurant experience at any level. Translating the menu into Italian does not make the food authentic Italian. I want to be delighted at Sale Pepe, not disappointed and reluctant to revisit. Simply. There was no delight. The management needs to take a really good, hard look at itself and ask what does it want to be."

"This was a lucky find for a last minute evening meal with a friend. The menu was difficult to choose just one item as the options looked delicious. I went with the gnocchi bolognese and it was amazing. The ambience was lovely, it was a very popular place with live music in the evening. I would recommend for casual dining with friends or for a romantic meal."

"Italian jewel in farringdon. the atmosphere in attilio is very refreshing it has a pronounced local character to it; with the peculiarities, the impeccable and friendly service, as we were included with open poor (literal) in the restaurant, even if it is extremely busy and served free champagne. the dishes themselves were also very rustic and homestyled- I had a spaghetti blog with Proscuitto-Mlon as an appetizer that was finished with free dessert wing and amaretto biscuits."

"Having been regular visitors to Caffè Mamma in its previous location many years ago, my friend and I were delighted to be remembered and warmly welcomed. The traditional menu is varied with choices for vegetarians. Everything we ate was superb, and the zabaglione was a delicious blast from our pasts. A well-known Richmond institution that I hope will flourish for many years to come."

"Well... where do I start!! Dined here tonight with two friends, very disappointed, the food was no better than a Mc Chicken sandwich and fries.The cocktails were bland, rocket salad with just the rocket leafs?? No music in the background, dull atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Needs someone to take it over! ASAP."
