"The best kept secret in Algonquin! Chill atmosphere but upscale food. It's our favorite! Never disappointed in the food or service. My husband has had the ribeye and tomahawk ribeye and says they're the best steak he's had but times! The chef isAmazing!"

"Our server, Connor, was absolutely excellent! As someone that waited tables for 7 years, it's easy to spot service that goes above and beyond. It was my Grandmother's birthday and she mentioned to Connor that she was a diabetic. He was kind enough to bring her some fresh fruit on a platter with a candle in it so we could sing Happy Birthday to her. He was extremely attentive and professional! The food was also superb. Thank you, Connor!"

"We had an excellent evening. We sat a few minutes before our scheduled time on a Friday night. Our waitress, Mary, was very helpful. The service was wonderful all night. My swordfish was so fresh and my wife's shrimps and scalops were just as delicious. We even had key lime cake, divided for dessert, which was also delicious. Total tab with drinks was $70. This included Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer that is a MUST."

"A quiet little restaurant you might walk right past. However, the chef and his wife inside make the most wonderful wild game dishes you've ever had. From wild boar to quail and even Kangaroo, all the dishes taste fresh and extremely flavorful. The staff was courteous, accommodating to allergies and very generous with complimentary service. It does get a bit loud at the restaurant on the weekends, but the ambiance is still lovely. Make a reservation! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: The chef was more than accommodating to our dietary needs."

"One of the top restaurants in all of Illinois is Montarra located in Algonquin. Fine dining at its finest, Executive Chef Joshua Lynn's offerings are all outstanding, appetizers through desserts. Even their drinks menu is creative. I don't say this often, but Montarra is a Bucket List restaurant. Service was very good, prices are moderate, beautifully designed space... but the food is for those that appreciate the finer things in life. Five stars in every category. Montarra is as good as, if not better, than the best restaurants in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. Trust me, I've been there. Thank you, Chef Lynn. You and your team are doing outstanding work. I'll be back soon."
