"We had an excellent meal. We started with carrot ginger soup and beef connsume with truffle oxtail ravioli. Both were fantastic and the highlight of the meal. We then shared an appetizer portion of truffle noodles which was also great. Both of us then had filets, one accompanied with prawns. The prawns were great and the steaks were solid. Nothing to complain about but just not quite the level of the soups and pasta. Ambience and views from outside were incredible. Would definitely recommend."

"We went here on our last evening in Salzburg after a 3,5 week long vacation in Italy and Austria, and this was the best food and wine on our hole trip. Perfect food, excellent austrian wine and service in world class. Do not miss this!!!"

"We thought Osteria Cavalli was a bit more of 'upscale' italian food and were a bit disappointed. We shared the fish plate as an appitizer and that was really good. Everything was tasty and the shrimps were cooked just right. We were looking forward to the main dish but here we were disappointed.The tortellini with gorgonzola and ham was nice but nothing special going on. As for the lamb filet; the meat was really nicely grilled but the taste of lamb wasn't really there. Also the vegetables were just some paprika and courgette which were obviously pre-cooked. The vegetables are also the same for each dish. Then the waiter came to bring the potatoegratin they forgot to put on the plate, but this gratin turned out to be cold on the inside.I got a new one but this was brought after I had finished the meal so that was a bit disappointing.Overall I think maybe we should have stayed with the fish, since they did a great job at that, but the overall experience was a bit underwhelming. Maybe it had to do with my expectations; the pictures on tripadvisor made me think it was just a bit more classy italian food. However, if you're looking for a quick bite with your family its still ok. Maybe not for a romantic dinner though."
