"In one sense, this is yet another of the ubiquitous Jersey Italian restaurants. How many more do we need? This one, however, offers broader food choices, prepared in a not necessarily Italian way. Quail that was not overcooked over risotto with lots of well-prepared mushrooms was first rate--definitely a repeater. Canneloni was better than pedestrian, but not necessarily a repeater. No substitutions is a turnoff when the main piece of an entree is attractive but the accompaniments are not, unless you want to buy them ala carte. Service was unsophisticated but friendly and efficient. The place is crushingly loud, but a little room off to the side and corner tables here and there are better. The light is turned down progressively, it seems every 30 minutes; it started fine and wound up cave-like, even though nobody in sight was on a hot date. This restaurant has improved a lot through the years and is a nice BYO choice in a community not known for fine restaurant food."
