"Very small village pub with little parking. Menu was interesting, quirky and not very varied but how could i go wrong with Chicken milanese? I requested a half portion of pasta which was a good move. Sadly the big lump of breaded chicken on my plate bore no resemblance to the elegance of a normal milanese fillet, thin and breaded. This was a huge breast of overcooked chicken. The pasta was barely warm as was the sauce but overall they tasted ok. My husband’s fish curry was better, decently warm and averagely tasty…. Trying again we followed this up with a pavlova but had to request cream as apparently pavlova are made with ice cream? Who knew? The pavlova was heavy with overdone meringue and, i think, tinned fruit? Nothing fresh or light about this dessert!The staff were lovely and very friendly, its a shame the food was nowhere near as good as the service. Our little foray out to try somewhere different was not a huge success sadly"

"Now, I am am amazed by the bad reviews of the restaurants in dobbies garden centre, world’s end nurseries, wendover. we called for lunch today. the restaurant was packed. comfortable sofa-style sitting at the entrance was monopolised by people who use a coffee and cake deal, but we wanted something more substantial and hotter. we had to wait in a very short waiting queue until a table is made available. while we were waiting, I saw the personal thoroughly cleansing and disinfecting tables between customers. we sat near the opposite where the coffee and hot drinks are made. service was attentive and pleasant. we would have missed the time when they served the breakfast, so we both decided for the broken squid with chips, each 10.75p.) I chose added mushy inherit and my wife chose to drill. we ordered both flavored latte coffee. I wanted vanille and my wife to be caramel. I watched how the young man brought her to get the aromen we had ordered. when they came, I can say that they were the best coffees I had in a commercial facility far better than those in well-known American coffee house chains. it took a while until the fish and chips arrived. the staff was very busy as the restaurant seemed full capacity, although it was almost 2pm. we saw that several portioned fish chips leave the kitchen. each order seemed to be cooked individually. I thought there was a mistake, because the parts seemed so big, but when ours came, they came with an apology. the large proportions of fish had run out so that they had given us two medium-sized portions. I assure them that the medium-sized proportions were as large as the large proportions at our local chippy. the fish was stacked so high that it almost fell from the plates. we knew we couldn't eat it all, so we asked for a takeaway box and we brought a whole fish, from each of our tellers, home. the food was excellent, well cooked and well presented. as I said at the beginning, the staff could not have been more pleasant or more efficient. I can't understand where the unfavorable comments that were previously taken against this restaurant originate. they certainly do not reflect our experience and we will return. possibly for coffee and cake."

"We were told that a fish chip bar was close by. We had tried pizza the previous evening and felt ripped off for what we got. We tried the fish bar instead the next evening and what a pleasure. The chips and the Haddock were cooked to perfection. It appeared to be the only chippy around town. Thank goodness we walked down as parking can be a problem. Good value for money."

"Ed, deb’s and julie are here a few times. here there is a good selection of real ales and beer (the drop bar is delicious and refreshing) with 2 bar seats, with a restaurant part as well. it has a beautiful garden area with parking the menu special and take away is more expensive to eat, but are available while the restaurant menu changes after seasons, availability, products available etc. well worth a visit."
