"Decided to try the Happy Haddock in Billericay for the first time, after using many others in the area over many years. We all thought that this was the best fish chips takeaway around. They cook it fresh why you wait but it is well worth the wait. The fish Cod had a light crispy batter and not greasy like many other places with beautiful tasting fish. For the first time we had chips that were crisp and fresh, unlike the soggy chips that we have had from other fish shops. Will definitely return, please continue with this high standard of food."

"Because of the excellent reviews we visited queen's park fish bar for the very first time earlier today. We ordered skate and chips and waited for this to be cooked For us. On arriving home we found the skate was so overcooked both the batter and fish that it had to be put in the bin as was inedible.we are so so disappointed and would have returned it if we lived locally and not in basildon.your comments would be appreciated and this is a genuine review of our experience.we have just totally waisted our money John butler as per"

"This changed owner last year and its a shame as the precious owner was very friendly and the food always good, the new owner was rude to me the first time I went in after the change complaining after I left I didn't pull the door shut even though I Was struggling with a pram and trying to carry the food anyway today the usual place I would take my baby for dinner was shut early so I thought I'd chance it, I ordered ham egg and chips, it was not ham it was spam and disgusting as was my egg and the chips had that horrible taste of old fat. Whilst I was there two ladies came in, it was 4.10pm she turned them away say f we shut at 5? Business must be good if you can afford to turn customers away, I for one will not return I gave it a second chance and its awful."
