"Travelling to Mt Glorious and spotted Salty's. Felt like fish and chips and pulled in. Polite, professional service and mutt allowed to sit in outside area. Fish, calamari, chips and crumbed prawns prepared and cooked as we waited with a really good coffee. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Don't drive past this place!"

"This review is much overdue, as our family have been 'regulars' for many years.Though this favourite shop is busy, Couta's is well staffed and there's never a long wait.This friendly, family business, offers a great selection to choose from. -The fish is freshly cooked, great portions, and tastes like 'it's just been caught'.(Battered or grilled, both perfectly cooked).The chips are 'best ever' due to the quality (& changing), of oil.Scallops are huge, and the batter is crisper and delicious.Other favourites are; the souvlaki's and burgers - generous, and quality.(Unlike 'others'), the service and quality is consistent, to each visit.We have recommended Couta's to all our family, relatives and friends, who have also become regulars. -(My friend, visiting from Strathmore', prefers an order here, to dining out!!!).The Staff are always friendly, and courteous. Young, 'cheeky' George is always friendly and happy to assist with your order. - We look forward to our 'regular' Friday N Chip nights! "We had tea from here with friends last night and it was delicious. The grilled fish was the best, good chips and potato cakes just like they should be. South Melbourne dim sims just to finish it of. Lovely and clean and good service. We...will definitely e back."

"I've often bought ice cream from next door (same owners) and yesterday we thought we would try some fish and chips as the ice creamery is great.The fish looked like it was cooked on the outside but it was undercooked in the centre. After almost throwing up we threw it away. I haven't felt well today and I only ate one bite. They probably cooked the butterfish from frozen hence the outside (batter was golden brown) giving the impression it was cooked.Simply put, I can't believe that they don't realize how dangerous it is to not properly thaw out what they are cooking. Their lack of understanding of safe food handling practices cannot be forgivenNever again!"

"This is my absolute favourite fish and chip shop. The shop is clean, service is great, prices are good, the fish is fresh and the portion sizes are spot on! I recommend the grilled barramundi and I have fallen for the Hamburger with the lot! Highly recommended!"

"Nothing terribly amazing, had a few excellent flake there over the years, regular fish and chips. I'm not terribly exciting so I always get the flake and some steamed dimsims. I guess fish+chip shops arent the 'cheap cheap' place anymore, but still quite fine."
