"Absolutely amazing. I am every chip shop owners worst nightmare I'm so fussy.. but I've visited the codfather a few times now and never had any reason to be fussy. The food is delish, the chips are perfect not at all greasy. I always have cod bites and they are just out of this world. Cooked to perfection every time! One of my children has an allergy the staff in the shop are fantastic and offer to cook her food in a separate pan, nothing is too much hassle. I've always been made to feel welcome at the codfather, staff are always so helpful and friendly. Service with a smile : my food has always been cooked fresh to order. It's become a bit of a habit now to visit the codfather then go down to the river to eat our food. Would recommend to anyone visiting st neots to stop by the codfather."

"When i went there, ordering was really simple not only were the staff polite they also smiled alot which made my day but the food was amazing. The fish were crispy, the chips were actually golden and fluffy inside. Definitely reccomend for everyone to go there"

"Fantastic reception by the staff who managed to accommodate us on Fathers Day despite having incorrectly booked for the previous day! The staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The food was OK, but not great, with the Prawn and Crab Linguine having plenty prawns but little evidence of crab, although this was addressed when raised with the staff. We’ll certainly be back"

"Very nice event. the personal was very accommodating, as I had not booked in advance. the food was good, I had the pork, with the only lower was the small part of the crack. Nevertheless, our waiter jon was friendly enough to bring me another who was excellent. I've never tasted such a perfect crack. I will definitely return."

"..... then this place isn 't for you. I was craving chip shop chips so popped in around 5:20 after work. Absolutely empty that was perhaps my first mistake... I 've seen them cueing out the door at other chippies in the town. The service was excellent I must say as the only customer in there I was given full attention. Seeing what I thought was an appealing selection of freshly fried food in the cabinet I opted for battered sausage chips. Thankfully I didn 't fall for the 'medium or large ' chip offer and stayed medium. £4.80 was reasonable, until I was told they don 't accept card, unless over £10! Seriously? I nearly walked out but my months of craving overtook me. The chips I have to say were reasonable. Reasonable portion and a reasonable lukewarm heat. Both would have been better if there was more of it!! The sausage. Well. I think it was left over from last night and possibly microwaved and put in the heat cabinet. The batter was chewy cold. No where near hot and crispy like you 'd expect. Most of that went in the bin. Must admit this place is getting a reputation for being substandard and I was warned against it.... belly before judgement in my case and will avoid in the future."

"I ordered a large portion of fish and chips and was very disappointed at the size.I got two thin strips of fish which together would have struggled to be a small piece of fish,the chips were very scarce too!! My grandson had more chips in...his small portion of chips and for the price of I was disgusted.I have no complaints on the taste they were perfect but I doubt for that poor portion size I will bother buying again which is a shame because they used to be a decent size"

"This is a very busy restaurant on a Sunday lunch time. If you’re in no hurry…no worry! The staff are very affable and attentive. The food was considered good by my party of 7, my fish and chip were first class …..BUT the mushy peas served in a mini saucepan were cold and about a dessert spoon of mush that looked as though someone had eaten from it! All in all, a good place to dine…beware car parking is not easy and often full."
