"Where to start!! Seated then a wait in a near empty pub for service!!! Drinks order finally taken only for the wine to come in a glass with lipstick.. no offer of refund!... ordered food please dont do it!! Chips are cold actually the food is cold.. lets put it this way would rather a Rustlers pound burger.. looks like the staff treat it as a social meeting place.. nice to see the person serving our food biting his nails.. To think we didnt go the Witherspoons which would have been infinately better.. thats how bad it was"

"We found this pub surprising busy for a Monday lunchtime, mainly frequented by diners of an older generation. There was a good range of about four ales on the bar. The menu features mainly pub standards but there is also a specials board and it was from this that we selected the Pork Belly a 'go to ' favourite of ours, and it was quite reasonably priced at £12.95. It was served with mashed potatoes and peas now surely the chef could come up with more interesting accompaniments than this. As for the meat, the centrepiece of any good pork belly is a crispy skin and the skin on this was certainly not crispy; indeed not eatable. The pork was okay but not the tenderest ever. Personally I would prefer to have paid a bit more for something more appealing. Service was quite efficient but a smile or two from the staff wouldn 't go amiss. Overall opinion of this pub? Well, being so busy on a Monday lunchtime must say something, but personally I found the place very average."

"So very disappointing, again! fish and chips and curry sauce in a box Firstly curry sauce missed from order, chips dry and rather tasteless and the fish dried out, hard, thin, and not white like a piece of cod at all. This used to be a lovely meal from a lovely shop but don’t know what’s happened to it and unfortunately it’s not the first time. We will be looking for a new fish and chip shop."

"Went for mothers day at 1pm and the place was full and busy, but the atmosphere was great and staff were all fantastically attentive, polite and relaxed.. nothing felt stressed which is really important. Our drinks orders were taken promptly and delivered to table very quickly. The food here though was divine! By far the best roast dinner I've eaten out anywhere, ever. The lamb shank was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the accompanying vegetables were amazing and there was loads to go round all 8 of us. I've never had a decent cauliflower cheese/bake out on a Sunday in a restaurant, its always huge chunks of hard cauliflower in a tiny amount of water cheese sauce but this was exceptional... home cooked and full of sauce and flavour. I can't knock this place one bit, the whole experience was outstanding. So much so we tried to book for Christmas Day,! :"
