"Went into the shop was given a ticket after ordering waited 30 minutes was then told waiting on chips only to discover at home that I had to reheat the whole order in my microwave everything was cold the reason it was is because they serve the just eat orders all the fresh products whilst loyal customers have to are served the cold food this is bloody atrocious and bad service to customers who takes the time to go and collect the food themselves i gave 1 star as I have to give a star at least if I had my own way they wouldn’t get any star word of advice to the owners start showing the customers who come into the shop better respect and hot food not cold dissatisfied customers"

"We moved back to the area in April of 2021 after relocating from Cottesmore. We left friends at our old local behind and missed them terribly. Then we found Paul and Lisa at The Anchor and instantly hit it off. Although we haven't lived in the area before we have family that have and to say they have accepted us is an understatement. We love going for pint most evenings and we regularly have their amazing steaks on a Thursday. Thanks for welcoming us and its so nice to have a landlord and landlady that cares for their customers. Keep up the great work both."

"Visited on Friday 13th mai 22. lunch approx. 1 uhr. shop was quiet. I asked for haddock chips. I was told about 5 10 minutes. I wasn't told what that was waiting that I was surprised to have to wait at all, but went around the block. on the return they gave me what I thought I was ordered. I went back to home for the 10 minutes. at the tasting I now found 2 small cod not haddock. I ate this, but it was annoying. I went back to the load, faced the very English an unlikely Greek) manager. He said he thought it was a bit dock. you're a lousy man who only wanted to use old fish friends. you lost a customer. I hate bullxers."

"We have visited the Thatch for many years with the late owners and recently the new owner. But this was our first visit since the new chef joined I must say I was very impressed I’m not saying anything was wrong before but he has improved the food massively and is a great addition to the Thatch. As always service and friendliness second to none. I’m looking forward to your Christmas menu xx Thank you and wishing you all the best xx"

"I am a Huge fan of the good old Fish Chips,when it is cooked right.This experience was not that good.I was told that it was the best ever and was how it used to be back in the day when it was Harrisons. Not so, the chips were soggy and the batter was like rubber,not to my liking at all,some people might like this but I prefer crispy batter and a good firm chip.Sorry ,will not be back."

"We called into the pub tonight for a meal we were warmly welcomed by the landlord john who made us feel more than welcome after our meal we were greeted by his wife Kathy who asked if our meal and if everything was ok the food and service was absolutely fantastic and we would highly recommend this pub"

"Despite where it sits in Tripadvisor this is not a restaurant (though it does do food on Fridays and Saturdays) but an excellent village pub. There are decent ales, a friendly landlord, an open fire in winter, comfortable seating and above all a welcoming pleasant atmosphere. It combines pub things: pool table, darts, football (on a sensibly sized TV) with being the sort of place you can enjoy a drink or two if you're not interested in any of that. Popped in three times over Christmas and the New Year and will undoubtedly come again."

"I have visited the wheel quite a few times over the years but nothing prepared me for my visit yesterday. £8 for a starter and not a main available under £13. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good but it’s not that good or...different from many other pubs in the area. £15 for fish and chips is just greedy. Good pub but this latest move takes the piss to be perfectly honest."
