"I was very surprised to find the restaurant totally empty. The lady on reception didn’t appear too familiar with the fact I had a table booked. Lovely room but it lacked any ambience as it was totally devoid of customers and was also quite cold. The food was lovely although they did bring the wrong order for one of the mains. Unfortunate as we were the only people there what would have happened had it been busy? When paying the bill I was generous enough to ask the waiter to add on a tip but was told they didn’t accept tips electronically. As I didn’t have cash with me they lost out. I have been to The Conqueror before and it was always excellent so this was a very disappointing visit. Wont go again."

"Was Really Hungry so really wanted a nice feed unfortunately this didn't hit the spot the chips were edible but the Fish was so running in Oil I could have given the car a Oil Change a real shame because there is not much choice in the area nice Staff hopefully just a Blip"

"We stopped for a late lunch today, but unfortunately we were greeted with all the things we couldn’t have no roasts, no pies, limited salad, no ‘all day’ breakfasts, no crisps, limited choice of beer. We made our choice, rather than leave, as we were all hungry, but the food was below par and definitely will not be revisiting."

"Arrived just after 6pm, was served straight away. On hindsight I obviously received food that had been standing for some time as there were four customers waiting for their order. I ordered a Senior Fish chips with mushy peas and a child’s meal for my grandson. I was told there was Cod already available. The. Cod was tasteless and batter wasn’t crisp, both the fish and chips were lukewarm and the chips were really dry. The only hot item was the mushy peas. Disappointing take away, will not be returning. The dog had the actual cod and the remainder went in the bin. Total waste of £15.97"

"Nice pub just a short walk from the quayside. Extremely generous portions (seriously the large fish and chips is more than enough for two people! . All the food was delicious and staff were very pleasant. 2 children’s meals and 2 adult meals, with drinks, came to about £60."

"We had two really delicious meals here and the service was impeccable! However £20 for a single burger is a little steep, especially as you don’t get many chips with it. A beautiful venue nonetheless and a bonus that they’re so dog friendly too!"

"Nine meals were ordered by telephone and we were told it would be minutes. Just before the minutes were up received a call to say food was ready to collect. All the food ordered was tasty and hot. Well done."
