"Hey guys on visit to East London had craving for fish n chips. On all accounts a wonderful experience for locals and travelers. First the exterior of the place does not say Lucas and looks of place are misleading; included a photo. Do not judge the book by the cover! As one reviewer said upon entering you are immediately welcomed as if you were a native. While I was waiting for my food had great exchange with owner and woman working behind counter. They answered all my questions about what I wanted and helped me place my order with patience. Upon ordering owner went back to kitchen and prepared my food fresh. Portions were generous with huge piece of fish battered to perfection and tons of “proper” chips; check photo. Delicious authentic fish n chips. Would definitely return!"

"Quite, nice place. Food was very good. I had the fish and chips, prawn appetizer and tiramisu desert. The price was reasonable and, food was very good. The staff was very friendly. The downside was the service was very poor. Drink orders forgotten, took forever to get anyone to tend to me and I waited 30 minutes to flag down a waitress just to check out. There was only two other people in place so it wasn't busy. By the sounds coming from the kitchen, the staff seemed more interested in fun jibber jabber than tending to customers."

"Nice range of pies and sides. Arrived on our table in good time nice and hot except there was an extra portion of chips, once notified the waiter took this away promptly. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. It was reasonably priced too."

"Popped in for a quick lunch as work locally. Jacket potato, beans, cheese and a side salad. Service was quick, pub was clean, and in terms of value, price is not too different to a maccers or KFC! The pub wasn't particularly busy- lunchtime in the week. Customers were largely men over 60, which is typical of a spoons. They were all on their best behaviour however- no drunken antics going on. Shame I could only have a soda and lime with my lunch as it was back to work after!"

"You can tell you in Scottland if you can order a fried pizza linole they make deep fried pizza and pizza cruising that is the broken. it's a cheap pizza, but surprisingly tasty, chips were pretty bland and soft, last time. I came that they were fine, so maybe just a bad charge. small tipp, in Scotland do not order and chips like sausage and chips, order a sausage sauce so that all Scottish chippies that you see with dinner on the menu, it means only with chips"
