"Fish and chips in saffron forests now make gluten-free fish and chips, my wife is celiac and milk unbearable, so we gave it an attempt to absolutely fantastic many chips and beautiful size rocks, it must try our Monday meal in future. it has delivered the time that was hot."

"The half of the shop is Indian takeaway and the other half is a fish and chip shop. nice eating and the Indian menu even has some cooking specialties that they will find nowhere"

"I have just have two portion of fish one portion of chips. What a horrible meal that was. Fish must have been fried at least 3 times , there was no fish inside these two rock hard pieces of batter. The batter was so hard it shot across the plate and onto the floor when I try to cut it. I will definitely NOT be using this shop again. Cost a fortune to be thrown in the bin. From one very dissatisfied customer"

"Having discovered this Pub online we found ourselves super impressed upon our arrival.. The Staff were efficient and friendly. The Menu was amazing. We felt full up by the time we left. Would definitely return here the next time we are in Essex. I wish we had a Pub like this near where we live"

"Visiting this lovely establishment on a whim with my partner. We arrived early and decided to have a drink in the bar. Very prompt service! After our drink we were escorted to our table and proceeded to order. We had the arancini and beans on toast to start. Where do I begin? I should imagine they have managed to obtain the Heinz recipe because it was simply incredible. So flavoursome and a beautiful amount of smokiness. Now for the main event, we had the pork belly scallops and the penang cod curry and OMG what an amazing couple of dishes they were! Scallops were incredible! The house made noodles were to die for! I am simply in awe with this establishment. What a transformation this public house has had. Thank you to the Kitchen team and Dean for a wonderful evening, I cannot wait to dine again"

"This is really excellent pub grub. Whether you have the scampi, fish, or home-made pie you are going to receive a simple, but delicious plate of food. The beef ale pie is simply wonderful. Packed with tender steak and coupled with a excellent gravy....Nice desserts too; especially the rum raisin ice cream and the two cheesecakes. Service is friendly and efficient and prices are reasonable too. Well worth a drive."

"We had Sunday lunch here today and it was really lovely. The rarebit tart as a starter was very tasty, and the roast beef dinner was excellent……the beef was pink, soft and tender. Veg was lovely and a good selection. Special mention for the gravy which was fabulous ..we asked for more it was so good! We took our young labrador with us and sat outside, but could have sat in if we’d have wanted to….so the pub is very dog friendly. The manager was chatty and very friendly and the young lad serving was just as nice. They were both attentive but not overbearing which was great. All in all a very good experience and we will definitely go again."
