"Today for lunch with my husband. we both really enjoyed it, I had a beautiful cheese and wobble omlette, my man had a burger. all cooked to perfection, chips beautiful and crispy and fresh. the personal so beautiful that we could laugh with them today is like at home. also a very pleasant dame behind the theke, which takes command, and fab latte’s. will come back soon."

"LOVE this pub!! This is our new local and I have to say, probably one of the best country pubs I’ve ever been to- So cosy and authentic, a proper, country pub and the best bit is, unlike a lot of pubs that only accept...dogs in the bar area, dogs are allowed throughout the whole pub here and I cannot tell you how friendly and welcoming the staff were towards us. Often, in a lot of pubs where dogs are accepted, they are tolerated more than welcomed. This couldn’t be further from the truth at Eagle Child; Two staff members came over to our table to make a big fuss over our spaniel Rufus, one even gave him some treats- he was spoiled! You really don’t get that everywhere and it made a nice, refreshing change. I visited with my husband and my mum- My mum I both had the Sunday roast and my husband the steak and ale pie. All three dishes were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. The beef I had with my Sunday roast was so tender and the presentation was beautiful. My mum also commented on how delicious her lamb was. If I have any slight criticisms, it would probably be that the portion sizes for the Sunday roast were a touch on the small side (and I’m only petite and don’t eat loads). However, I thought it was very good value for money- All top quality produce cooked really well. I think what makes this pub is its surroundings and the atmosphere, it’s really homely and cosy inside and I cannot rate the staff highly enough- I’m so sorry we didn’t have any cash with us to leave a tip! We certainly will have next time! See you soon!"

"We came across this land pub the fox roby mill after the drive around to find somewhere, after our walk near parbold hill fairy glen right outside of wigan, personal made us feel welcome also tho we had not booked we were still able to order food and we were sitting in the dog friendly area his only small area inside, but if they come together with their pooches can not find"

"Really nice service here and was right in front of the open fire on a really cold day, nice it was also. To be honest, I can say the best steak and ale pee I've ever had in my life, full of brazed steak, cooked to perfection. everything with hand cutting chips and fresh veg and correct gravy also. would have liked to have been gloomy, but was too filled to fit everything else. I would recommend this place to everyone and everyone and I will definitely be back for more."

"Ordered 4 meals tonight and yet again one of the bag of chips and a portion of mushy peas was missing. Every time we order from here we always have to check the bag to make sure every thing is there. Unfortunately tonight one of our meals included a omelette and we thought the chips were in with the omelette and didn't realise the chips were missing until we got home. Can't be bothered calling to complain anymore as all they do is apologise and tell you to come back to get your missing items, which I have done before but really can't be bothered anymore and am now just going to take my business elsewhere."
