"Brilliant evening meal, couldn’t have been better we were a party of 16 from age 4yrs to 58yrs all fabulous food all hot, big portions and delicious the little kids were served first, so no drama The Landlord, barmaid and Chef couldn’t have done more, the adults even had a complimentary post dinner Limoncello. Highly recommend The Royal Standard"

"We stopped here for a fish and chip meal and were pleased with the choice available from traditional fish to a variety of pies , side dishes , and sausages. Waitressing staff were friendly and efficient and we observed tables being promptly cleared and cleaned between diners. The take Away section of the cafe was doing a roaring trade but this did not detract from service to diners. Toilet facilities here were very clean ."

"I was staying at Haven Seaview, camping, in the pouring rain, needed cheering up. Looked at a few chippies online and decided to go a bit further away to buy food. So glad I did. The place was packed. It's a good sign when people are queueing happily for food. They have a good system, loads of staff all working together under the supervision of one chap. It was like a well-oiled machine. Servers showed patience with customers, and worked so hard to keep pace. The fish was beautifully cooked, white and flakey and the chips were nicely cooked. Made me wish I lived in Weymouth."

"We have to say that we had the best ever fish and chips here. The cod was beautiful, amazing in fact and the batter perfect. Well flavoured and well cooked chips, great mushy peas and curry sauce. The service was spot on, couldn't fault anything at all."
