"The pub itself is very attractive. the winter garden it area less so. we came to the end of a busy lunch service and it showed. the workers, while very pleasant, clearly missing guidance and the whole visit was very disappointing, instead of the joy we were expecting. extremely limited menu. only fish and a burger available at 2 o'clock on Sunday. it was pointed out that the booking of a later table made it inevitable that the Sunday roast option would be sold out. we complained bitterly because there were no suitable alternatives and the waitress saved the day by referring to the kitchen to see if anything else could be offered that contains meat and vegetables. the food and the wine were very good in that. However, the overall experience was rather shocking for a device rated so high. I would neither come back nor recommend and the 3/5 evaluation is based exclusively on the quality of food and the willingness of the staff."

"After a day trip to chester we have dipped into the curtains chipladen on the way to worcester. the owner was very welcoming and quick to put on some fresh chips for us, although they soon closed. he was very kind and knew that we were visitors in the opposite, he obviously knows his regulars. I can see why people come back. eating was very fresh and tasty and good value for money. the owner is clearly passionate about his shop and his local community."
