"We visited The Anchor on Christmas Eve for our Mum’s birthday and had such a good time! The food was great…all homemade and cooked to perfection, but what made the evening for us was how welcoming everyone was! The landlord came over (after we’d finished eating , introduced himself and stayed for a chat even though it was his night off we had a lovely chat with his wife too. The Bar Manager was equally as friendly and welcoming…it felt like we’d know her for ages, not 2 hours and there were hugs when we left : We will definitely be back and would recommend this pub to anyone. Thanks for a great evening guys!"

"Love this country pub, the welcome is always warm and heart felt, you come in as a stranger but leave as a friend, we came last month and Mussels were on the menu and this is my favourite so imagine my horror we looked down the menu and it had changed, I then noticed that the lady on the next table was tucking in some, we looked on the special board bit they weren't on there so I asked at the bar and he said that they did have a few portions but would just need to check with the chef and yes they had a few portions left, so we ordered them and and they were absolutely delicious, first class wine and service"

"Excellent hidden gem with a beautiful outside eating/dining area, perfect for those lazy summer evenings with the family or friends.. Staff were excellent, service was excellent, being vegan is always hard when eating out but they were great at offering alternatives and what dishes could be done to be made vegan, very happy with the food when arrived, would highly recommend"

"Great meal off the gluten free menu. Ordered chicken shashlik to start, burger for main and Lemon roulade for pudding. The waitress doubled checked and reassured regularly that the meal was GF. Super friendly and nice ambiance. Sister pubs in local area have same/similar menu are also good. Would recommend."

"Ordered 2 ice cream’s watched the waiter bring them over to our table with his fingers hooked over inside the bowls!!! What a way to carry them!!! Surely you should be holding them from the bottom. We couldn’t eat them. Staff need training!! Disgusting!!!"
