"At Beefeater Coombe Lodge, our recent lunch experience left a mixed impression. While the meal itself was satisfactory, it's evident that the establishment is showing signs of wear and tear. The menus, in particular, were sparse and worn, indicating that they have seen better days. However, amidst these observations, one shining beacon emerged—our server, Jan. Jan's exceptional service stood out, as she went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Her warm welcome and genuine smile made us feel truly valued and appreciated throughout our visit. Despite the tired ambiance, Jan's hospitality and dedication left a lasting positive impression, reminding us that excellent service can elevate even the most lack luster of experiences. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Jan for her outstanding service and hope that Beefeater Coombe Lodge considers investing in revitalizing its ambiance to match the calibre of its exceptional staff."

"Fish Chips is decent but they suddenly got dear. A year ago you could get a large fish large chips here for about £8. Then they put it up to £9.20. And now they just put it up again to £10.20. TAMAHKAR TÜRKLER!! Not only that but there is a big TV in there on that they are always playing unclean pop music like MTV Beyonce other such piffle. I'm only going back when I see they've stopped the price hikes. EVREN, SE25."

"I am relatiw new in the opposite and moved here six months ago. I have read all reviews about mcdermott’s fish chips, as it is my local business and I must say that it has exceeded my expectations. the chips are a combination of soft and crispy, always fresh and no old oil, as it is for the fish I believe is always sustainable and the special or fish of the day is what was available on the fish market I suspect. always a snake, but it's going pretty fast. I wish the opening times and opening times have been extended, as opening times are not their standard chip shop hours, but I assume it creates demand."
