"We visited the skinningrove after seeing it on the fantastic north video of michael lazenby. a fascinating historical village. we saw how the people went into the cascade, and decided to give it to midday. very pleasant staff and an extensive menu, including veggie and vegan. our food was hot, delicious and very cheap. we drove from lincolnshire for a few days in the northeast, which is beautiful friendly people especially in skin distancing."

"We drove here from Staithes after hearing great things and we were not disappointed! Friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff made our order which was lovingly wrapped and handed over with pride. We ordered two Fish n Chips; amazingly crisp and tasty, even after the journey back! Beautiful light and crisp batter and a good amount of s&v! Mushy peas on the side that were just right, battered sausage, buttered ‘Bread Bun’, as it’s called here a couple of sauces and a few cans of pop.. It really hit the spot, just what we needed! 20 years of ownership, and you can definitely taste the experience and passion that goes into this delicious offering!"

"Extremely greasy food, like I know fish and chips arnt exactly healthy but when there's enough oil in the bottom of your tray to run a car engine it's a little off putting. Also shop itself doesn't exactly scream hygiene...... Grim."
