"I visit Sawbucks frequently and reviewed this pub about two ears ago. Ten months ago the pub suffered a fire and was closed for the better part of six months. When it finally opened a few weeks ago, eager regular patrons rushed the place to see all the expected changes. NOT. The owner wisely listened to the old truism: "if it ain't broke don't fix it." The interior layout remains almost exactly the same. Traffic flows the same. Bar and kitchen, same locations. Newness came with lighting, wall decorations, carpet, bar surfaces, chairs and tables, state-of-the-art electronics etc. Karaoke is now Thurs, AND Friday, with DJs encouraging more upbeat music for dancing on Fridays. Good karaoke provided by Jacqueline thru her "Almost Famous" group. Always a friendly crowd at Sawbucks--I've never seen a fight of any kind there. OH! almost forgot--the Sawbucks liquor store is now permanently closed! For the closest alternative, head South on 152 (Johnston Rd)and cross 16th avenue SLOWLY 'cause you turn RIGHT into the mall parking lot about 50' past 16th. The liquor store is straight ahead about 200' on your Left."

"I've been here for years. The best Chinese farewell I tried! Also great fish chips. Always friendly staff when busy, they tend to be fast and to the point (although never unfriendly) that I as there is only one person, the orders... via the phone and in person."

"They really do come thru on the fish and chips. Very ample size pieces of fish and plenty of fries. Coleslaw pretty good too. You could add on some breaded oysters, scallops and prawns.....not a great idea as they are frozen and deep fried. Waitress very friendly and ready to please you."
