"We visited the Alfred for a Sunday roast based on a recommendation. They are only serving food at the pub until Dec 3rd but everything about the food will be missed. The portion size with sides is brilliant and the service very friendly. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Excellent Sunday lunch, booked online a couple of hours before and they were extremely efficient and accommodating. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked lamb and a tasty veggie option in chickpea and bean roast. Service was great as well. Would recommend."

"Friendly, welcoming and a lovely atmosphere. Food was amazing with large portions and great value for money. Lenton, our server, was excellent, checking everything was OK without being over bearing. He was polite, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Couldn't manage dessert so will be returning to sample those. Definitely reccomend and will be visiting again"

"Was at the same event as trips of 2021 can 't speak highly enough of the service and quality of food they provided for the event. The food was excellent and HOT and freshly cooked when it arrived quite an achievement in view of the numbers. Well done to all the staff have already started singing their praises around the town. Will definitely use them again."
