"I 've eaten here on a few occasions and food has been hit and miss. I 've had a really nice breakfast and a couple of nice sandwiches but just find it inconsistent. The staff are always spot on, very helpful and polite but the food can be just a bit meh . On this occasion I has a caesar salad which was well below par. One of the more healthy options on the menu (as I 'm trying to drop a few pounds turned out to be very low fat! The salad leaves had obviously had a big fall out with the dressing as it was almost impossible to detect. The chicken had a big layer of skin/fat, not rendered at all! The bread was so tough and dry after one bite I delved no further. The bits which were Parmasean and some crunchy things tasted really nice so pared with the chicken and lettuce made the meal edible. So why didn 't I complain? Well firstly because I 'm British (and we don 't really do that sort of thing but honestly, I think it was because I had my diet head on and was happy to miss the calories. In full on food monster mode I think I 'd.....know I 'd of sent it back. For a bit of balance my wife 's baked potato, beans and cheese was good and my flat white coffee was as good as any. This place used to sell really nice sandwiches with an exciting selection of side salads which were great. I know this is Wolverhampton and we get easily excited about having our own Debenhams but this place need to up its game if it wants to be here long term. "What a lovely country pub. The interior was such a surprise restaurant was decorated like a Tudor banqueting hall very grand. The staff were very friendly and helpful and attentive enough for us to feel well looked after. The food was freshly cooked, with good quality ingredients, served hot and tasted delicious. Overall, an excellent experience which everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to all involved :"
