"Can't recommend it high enough, put it this way, I drove over 160 miles to dine here and it never disappoints, absolutely perfect, my absolute favourite restaurant in Dorset, we were staying overnight outside Bournemouth but we still preferred driving to this restaurant as its top notch, caters for everyone, the staff are amazing nothing too much trouble , we'll done"

"We called in Saturday night for quick meal after beach. The front doors were locked! it was 20.00? The shop was busy and there were people waiting for their orders. There were lots of staff inside, all chatting and goofing about behind the counter. No one came to assist us. Another lady turned up and made her way in through the exit and got served so we followed suit. Got our order after a wait. Got to car and just checking as orders are often wrong from Harlees, and surprise surprise it was the wrong order. We took it back in and the girl behind the counter tried to give it to the man who had ordered! I said He should have fresh food we 've had our hands in that She seemed annoyed and grunted You 'll have to wait at him! No apology or anything. Then she gave us our Correct order which we again checked and this time it was missing a jumbo sausage. Guys, if you want to go home early, give your job to someone who cares, you are seriously damaging this business. Bosses: find out what your staff are up to and change them, this is happening all the time. regular customers such as us will not return as this is becoming the norm! We will give it a miss or use the chip van in future 09/09/23 20.03 126965"

"The Golden Fox is consistently good. Each visit has produced an excellent meal and service and the portions are generous and well presented. The mushroom stroganoff and gammon steak are particularly good! Staff are extremely courteous both on the phone when booking and in person....Wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Golden Fox."

"We've just had a single night at the Drover's Inn and we paid £90 for it. The room was not en-suite in the traditional sense but our room had its own bathroom along the landing. My wife said that she would feel uncomfortable using it in the night if other guests were there but on this occasion, no one else was staying. The room was clean and in good decoration and the bathroom was modern and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was clean. The room was advertised with breakfast included and it was, but it was a cold croissant, pot-noodle type porridge, two single serving cereals, yoghurt, juice and milk, just 250 ml of milk between the two of us. The milk, juice and yoghurt were kept cool in a tiny fridge about the size of a shoe box. This sat on a wicker chest of three drawers placed in the wardrobe, so you couldn't hang clothes up. There was no cooked breakfast offered so presumably, it was not available. From our experience of travelling a lot, this wasn't a £90 room, even considering that New Forest accommodation has a premium charge. By far the worst though was that it was the Saturday night of Halloween, but we couldn't avoid that. The rooms it transpired were over the bar area and there was live music planned. This started early in the evening and continued until 10-30pm. It was so loud that the floor vibrated and it was barely possible to hear the TV. After the live music stopped, a disco, or recorded music was played loudly until midnight, and by the time the final people had left, and the staff had cleared up, it was about one in the morning before we could sleep. We were tired after our trip so, with little sleep, we were exhausted in the morning. Now, I realise that pubs are struggling, and I can understand the need to maximise calendar events to boost funds, but I think that the responsible landlord should also consider their paying guests, and not offer the rooms for hire when such events are planned. If someone wanted to attend the event and stop over, it's for them to arrange with the landlord. So, a miserable experience in a nice, but overpriced room in my view."

"We are staying locally and checked the reviews on here before visiting, the reviews are right, we had cod and chips and both are very good, the fish was cooked just right with crispy batter and the chips are the best I've had from a chippy. We travel a lot and often have fish and chips, check my other reviews, these are the best."

"Kids cod is half the size, no toys now given and I’m sure it’s gone up in price too since we last went. £5.99 for a cod not much bigger than a fish finger and a fruit shoot!!! Not good value anymore."
