"Ol my god just got home and wow we smashed it all back. fish was sooo yum plus chips beautifully cooked. very clean and extremely pleasant experience.I'm a first time customer but as long that the food is this great we life time customers now"

"After a day of wineries by bike, we wanted to finish with a great dinner. After researching thanks to Tomato, i picked this little gem and it was a hit for the whole crew. Indoor/outdoor alfresco style dining, we sat on a picnic style bench outside. Service was prompt and friendly throughout the night, even accommodating us with takeaway coffees for the walk home. What Peta ate; 6 hour braised beef cheek, remoulade, parsnip puree, baby beets, hazlenuts…$21 we shared this as our entree and OMG this was delicious!! you can never go wrong with beef cheek i think, a must on any menu especially 6 hour braised Market fish, cauliflower puree, Jersey benne potato bacon salad, green beans, tomato…$35 beautiful dish, fish was beautiful"

"I visited Cuckoo for a special romantic dinner on a whim, and was delightfully rewarded. The theme of the place is wonderfully kiwi tearooms with a wedge of Alice in Wonderland. <br/>The fantastic marinated olives (in caraway and orange zest) were grand, served in a dainty gold leafed tea cup. The heartwarming lasagne was a generous serve and probably the best one I have ever had! The wine listed reflected the italian influences of the menu, as well as the local wairarapa location. Candle light guided through a spectacular pizza, half and half with great flavours available, on a traditional thin base so not to leave you too full for the vast array of house made cheesecakes available we took ours home for supper. <br/>The service was heartwarming, attentive and they are real locals, these guys care about making your experience great. <br/>I am taking a crew from work for a small do next week, as the converted old villa has many separated areas for dining, both small and intimate, as well as roomy.<br/>I think some '50 's or 60 's pop music would compliment the place really well tho. That 's the only thing. <br/>We had a great experience and at a very resonable price note, very good value wine list! Bargains!"

"Dinner from the Tapas menu last night the food is wonderful tasty full of flavour and beautifully presented. For the non alcohol drinkers the kombucha is lovely ginger being my favourite delicious and goes really well with food on a summer night. Great range of wines. Thank you from Sally Sonja and Trudi"

"A great option off the main drag. Decent coffee and a nice menu. We loved how they catered to our kids with smaller portions of their menu. The eggs bene was great, nice change up serving it on a scone."
