"We love Indian food and to have this in the town of Hope is just a bonus. It may not look like much from the outside but it is worth going in. Its clean, good service and fantastic food."

"I hate writing a bad review but I really feel that I must in this case. We stopped by for lunch and wanted to share a plate as we were not that hungry but needed a little something. Getting seated was quick, but not super friendly, and they weren't busy at the time. We had a look at the menu and decided that we would share the Ruben which the menu said comes on rye bread. When the meal arrived, we immediately noticed that the bread was full of seeds. I can't eat seeds due to a medical condition and so I had no choice but to tell the waitress that I couldn't eat it. I told her that rye bread is usually just rye bread, just like sourdough is just sourdough and white is just white. If I had known it was a MULTIGRAIN rye bread, I wouldn't have ordered it. She had her manager come over and the manager offered for me to order something different and offered for my husband to keep the Ruben at no charge. This was a nice gesture but we insisted that we pay for what we eat, mistakes happen. So I ordered the beef dip. The bad thing about this scenario is that one persons food is ready and the other person is waiting...never a good thing. And, we really just wanted something small, not two entrees...a quick little bite on our way home turned into a longer than anticipated lunch. Nonetheless I waited for my food and my husband waited as well, so we could eat together. My food arrived and we started to eat. Both meals were extremely greasy, it was dripping out of the sandwiches and the bread on the inside was wet from grease. The dip that came with my beef dip was pure fat, I didn't touch it. And the fries were overdone. My husband had to ask for a refill on coffee and I had to flag someone down for water. Just not a good meal or service at all. THEN, the icing on the cake was that when it came time to pay we were totally short changed and by like $27! Our bill was $37 and we gave our waitress $100 and she brought us back $36. I'm glad I noticed and immediately said "um, that's not the right change." We waited for her to figure it out and correct it and then when she gave the correct change we left and left no tip (something we have NEVER done before.) Service=Bad Food=Bad Sorry, we do not recommend this restaurant."

"Don't let the outside appearance of this place fool you, the steak my wife had was perfect and I had incredible fish and chips! So good and so much food for a reasonable price. The server was absolutely amazing, he had so much passion in the establishment. Will be my go to food stop any time I'm going through the hope area!"

"The ordered two meals were cold and cakes were missing. Once you come home after parking, you will get the cold food and the missing part of the order you just give up. I never go back."

"We’ve been here several times before but not for awhile...it’s a Sunday 1pm and waited at least 20mins in line and another 20mins for food. We have never experienced this before, only one at the till...lack of employees, new owners? Fries were cold too..."

"We stop here for dinner and thought it was great. The food was all made in house... we had fish and chips and Vela cutlet. Both were delicious. This will now ge our go to restaurant and only mins from Hope. And the owner was...our server and she was very pleasant and quick. A great experience."

"Not sure what happened when there is new ownership or restructuring, but the taste is extremely bland, portion sizes are at least half of what they were. From the best sushi in the city to the bottom of the pack, very disappointing. Would suggest to change the name so that people know it's not what it was."

"We were back to Hope for a 2 night stay last week, and back to 'Kingpin Lounge ' twice during our stay. With travel restrictions lifted, it was good to go for us, and we were anxious to see Hope, and our friends at 'Kingpin '. For this stay, we checked out a couple of restaurants enjoyed during previous stays, but got either 'we are closed ' or 'we are only doing take out ' messages. So 'Yea ', it was back to 'Kingpin ' for two, early evening dinners during our stay. We dined inside a little too warm and sunny out on the patio, and everyone there was inside out of the sun. We shared two Burgers on the first visit, and two Clubhouse Sandwiches during our second visit. Along with cool, large, beer drafts for daughter and I, and ice water for Mom, we did good each time. The burgers and sandwiches were large in size, and along with the sides for each, well prepared, and so flavourful and tasty. The drinks cool, and totally hitting the spot. Thanks to those at 'Kingpin ' once again for contributing so much to the total enjoyment of our stay in Hope. All 's willing, we hope to see you again soon."
